I finally got one today after the first two were damaged in transit. Amazon reimbursed me rather than sending a new one and of course the cost was higher when I ordered again. Hopefully the product is decent. Update: seems like a great hive. We are new to bee keeping but the hive went together well and appears to be well built.

Good quality, cut tight dovetail joints, pre drilled, all hardware, top and bottom pre assembled, only need to get some wood glue to assemble. Assembly with hand tools would be easy, but using cordless screw driver and Brad nailer much faster, use rubber mallet to assemble boxes or regular hammer gently. Don't need to super tighten screws, just seat down into recessed holes, over tighten and you will split wood as FYI for anyone doing for first time. Takes about an hour to assemble both boxes and 20 frames

I have several of these hives in my bee yard and have been very pleased with the quality and attention of detail of these units. All the components are heavily waxed, including the hive bodies, which has helped them stand up to the weather very well. The dovetail joints a very precisely cut and fit together very tightly. The hive bodies are predrilled with countersunk holes for the included screws. All foundations are also heavily coated with wax which seems to be attractive to the bees as I have not had a problem with swarms abandoning these hives. All in all, I have been very pleased with these and strongly recommend them to you. I believe you will also be happy with them.

Very well made. Easy to assemble and comes with screws to secure after gluing. Frames fit great.

Durable and strong I have had might a couple years and the hives are very sturdy. Wax coating is starting to flake in places but easy to fix.
