I build arcade machines which as I am sure you can imagine uses a massive amount of wiring so I go through a lot of heat shrink tubing. I saw this set on Amazon and liked the colours and lots of choice available within the kit and for 7 quid at time of purchasing it was a really good deal. Not a whole lot you can say about heat shrink tubing... the colours on this kit are nice and bright and very easy to see even inside the dark guts of an arcade machine and within a rats nest of wiring, the amount of size choices in this kit is really good and no more having to make do with the wrong sizes and finally and most imporantly the stuff shrinks easily, quickly, evenly and well when just using lighter to do it (need to get a mini heat gun one day). Definately a good kit and well worth the money will be buying again.

As I have taken lessons in soldering I needed to buy all the necessary tools for the jobs. And these Heat shrink tubes are vital for protecting wiring exposed to an outside environment. I added Daytime running lights to my motorbike and a quality alarm system. The 8 lights in total needed a lot of wiring to plugs and socket's and splicing into the main wiring lights . These shrink tubes of many different sizes are a perfect selection for the job required. They perform as you would expect and not requiring a lot of heat to shrink and seal the spliced wires. I completed the task and everything works perfectly, very pleased with the results. I have no worries as I have previously when wires have separated due to me not professionally wiring up properly. Now everything is professionally connected and a self pat on the back. The heat shrink tubes arrived on due date and was well packaged. Opening up the soft plastic case it was obvious unlike the hard plastic cases this wont fall apart as I have had with my rivet case of similar size, 5 stars for the case alone. There are 12 sizes of tubes of different colours making it easier for you to identify after a task of which wire is which by the colour coding you choose to use. A chart on the top of the case helps greatly to choose which tube is required. Decent set way to many realy thin ones . It's the only negative.

Really great assortment of diameters that will cover many requirements. Good little container that keeps each size organised / separate. Simple to use with either a naked flame( eg lighter) or electric heat gun. (I tend to use the latter) When the heat is applied, very quickly the tube contracts and forms a protective layer. For me a good addition to the soldering / tool chest.

A collection of heat-shrink tubing, nearly all of equal length - a few were 1cm short - but in various widths or diameters to suit different situations. The quantity supplied in any one size varies; there are many more of the thinnest and fewer of the wider sizes. The tubing has a 2:1 shrink ratio so that it should be possible to find a size that is a loose-comfortable fit and then to shrink it to lock a join in wiring or a junction of components. The pieces are mostly 6 cm long but can be easily cut to a suitable length; a standard twisted and soldered join in wiring may need no more than 1.5-2 cm to fully insulate it. There is a brief 'manual' to assist new users. For extra-large items, including securing large components e.g joins in TV aerial down-leads, there is similar tubing in other kits (perhaps in differing widths etc) or as rolls or 'skeins' in much larger widths, some in excess of 100mm! Ideally, you will need either a hair dryer or a gas- or mains-powered heat-gun to shrink them. A rechargeable gun was used in the past but there does not appear to be a currently available alternative. An inexpensive mains-powered model was chosen as an alternative. The kit will be useful for some electronic applications and repairs, home and vehicle electrics. The tubing will also insulate metal components when required and waterproof them when exposed to the outdoor environment.

It could have more different sizes as it does not shrink a lot. They say it shrinks jn ratio of 2:1 but for me it didn't feel like. Other than that it's a nice set, comes in a nice box too! All tidy.
