I have an Inverter solar project on the table and needed something to cut 4/0 welding cable "cleanly" (need to make a dozen or so cuts). After looking at the options out there I decided to take a chance on these purely based on the price and the ability to send them back if they did not work. I purchase the larger 24" 600mm cutters. Welding cable is very fine strand copper so a cutter for me needed to be able to cut fine strand without mangling or deforming the cable (clean cut). Not only did these cable cutters cut through 0000 4/0 welding cable with absolute ease, they did it clean and smooth. Although I do not have anything bigger on hand I suspect these cutters would cut copper cable twice the size of 4/0 cable. I have read in some reviews that the cutters are tight to open. This is what allows cutting of fine strand cable. Tight is really just what I would call snug and have no complaints or plans of loosening the center bolt that holds the sheers together. These are 100% a fantastic value even if all you need them for is a dozen cuts. I AM ABSOLUTELY PLEASED WITH THESE LOW COST CABLE CUTTERS. Don't know if these will hold up to professional long term use for years and years but I would say YES they will just by the feel and look of the build quality (not exactly sure what the steel composite is on the sheers but like I said. They cut right through 4/0 copper cable like butter with no visible ware or scars). Would purchase again for sure!

I took a chance on this. As its listed as a cable cutter not a hose cutter. But if you look on Summit or Jegs for AN hose cutters they look identical to this but cost three times as much. First thing I did when it arrived was try in on an Evil Energy -10AN hose. Wrapped it with masking tape then cut it clean in one swipe. Much better and cleaner than using a cutting wheel on my angle grinder.

These cutters were purchased to cut braided stainless steel hose and works great nice clean cut no frayed edges. Great product.

Cuts cable with an ease.

I use this to cut SER 2-2-2-4 aluminum electrical cable. It works perfectly for that purpose. Smooth, not much effort required. Definitely worth the investment.

Actually impressed with cutting capacity for 4/00 cable. Nice clean cut. Able to get crimp ends on no issue. Good handle length for leverage.

CUTS 0000 CABLE LIKE A HOT KNIFE THROUGH WARM BUTTER 4/0 COPPER CABLE IS NEARLY, if not completely, IMPOSSIBLE TO CUT WITH A SHORTER HANDLE CABLE CUTTER. THESE HANDLES ARE TWICE AS LONG AS "POPULAR" CABLE CUTTERS, because you have to pay a few dollars more for the longer handles. WELL WORTH THE FEW EXTRA DOLLARS.
