The Story Continues
The continuing story of the native American law enforcement on tribal lands is done very well. The unfinished stories of event in season one continue. It takes a while for the story to all layout so you understand all happening. The scenes of the land and how people live both on and off of the native lands is stark and tells a story of its own. The challenge of having a two level way the natives have to administer the laws versus when the FBI steps in is telling. The emotion of the people living this shows so the viewer can understand more of their lives.

Well written series based on the books
The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star review is that I don't like some of the character changes from the books. I feel it was totally unnecessary and changed the way the character(s) react to the things being done. But other than that the writing is good and that actors are terrific. I can't wait for season 3

A tous les amoureux des romans de Hillerman et de la nation Navaho, les DVD des deux superbes saisons de Dark Winds ne peuvent être lus sur un DVD de salon (mauvaise zone). En revanche, la lecture est parfaite sur le DVD d'un ordinateur.

Season ONE was something very different and very good. Well filmed, directed and acted. Season TWO is perhaps even better. A truly scary villain (though he did seem a bit superhuman - defying death many times.) The usual magnificent scenery, excellent acting, and a script that sizzles with tension. Ep 4 is VERY tense and violent. Funnily enough there isn't a single swear word!!! NO SPOILER - The ending is just right, and includes some fascinating Navajo rituals. It will pay you to have seen Series One as this does continue immediatly on from that. Excellent DVD transfer, picture, sound and subtitles excellent. To finish...If a 3rd series is made it would be ideal to make a solid partnership of the two elder statesmen - McLarnon and A. Martinez. They would make a great team and show the youngsters a thing or two!!
