Can this unit be used without power if i dont want to use the 12v to remote line convert?

I believe it needs a 12v supply no matter what.

I want to connect to only one speaker outup which of the multiple wire would i use ?

I used the grey and white when I done it that way in my car but if you can use both speakers it runs better.
