Expensive, but well worth it and Ziwi Peak's Customer Service is among the best out there.
I saw Ziwi Peak a few years ago at a local Pet Store, but avoided buying it due to the cost at the time which was much lower than it is now, in retrospect I didn't buy it because I wasn't really educated on the proper diet for Dogs, which is a common problem in this day and age, but with the Internet people are becoming more educated. Initially when my Dog was a puppy and into a few years of age, we stuck with Purina Puppy Chow and then tried several Pet Store brands some not so good and what's advertised on TV, big brand names and some obscure brands sold only online, all of which contained grains, carbs and veggies among a mix of meat proteins and God knows what else. A number of years ago after my Dog had some health issues for bladder infections, the Vet prescribed a food just for that reason, very expensive and after further education I saw the #1 ingredient was Corn, after feeding my Dog this for a month or so, I stopped. I took it upon myself to feed higher quality pet foods and the issue went away and never returned. I also got a new Vet. Dogs are carnivores based on their non-domesticated ancestors, sure they can eat some of it, but having it as their main diet or a high %, is not what nature intended for them. Over the years since, I tried several higher quality brands in an effort to curb some paw licking and chewing that a became frequent, Vet said there was a yeast infection and mentioned it could be food. I went to Grain Free, I tried many different brands, Wellness, Taste of the Wild, Nutrisca, Orijen, Acana and Fromm to name a few. I actually lost count of all the foods I tried, I removed Chicken from the diet thinking there was a Chicken Allergy, helped a little but paw licking and nibbling continued. Also my Dog had a yeast issues as I could still smell it very faintly. There were times when the food totally was a loss of interest and would not be finished at dinner time. I then switched to a grain free all fish diet, for a while, tried a couple other brands, Zignature being the last, but I had to stop due to the % Sodium. I then received word from the Vet that my Dog has early stages of congestive heart failure, which requires daily meds now to manage. I also, on my own, began to research and also blamed myself for the diet I was feeding. I read that diets low in Taurine and also diets that are Lamb & Rice based can cause deficiencies in Taurine. Along with this, it's imperative that dog's with CHF be given a low sodium diet, most dog foods on the market are loaded with crap on top of Salt, like why is it needed? Some sodium perhaps, but high % of it or just plain old "Salt" listed in the ingredients, is too much. So after blaming myself for the condition my Dog had, I went on a search to find a low sodium food that met my requirements, I tried a few, but most were still too high in Sodium % or did not even list it, after reaching out to them via e-mail I found out most were too high. I then found Ziwi Peak, and their website is very clear, shows the sodium and also added Taurine benefit which my Dog needs, I ordered a small bag and fed it mixed in for a week, noticed how my Dog devoured it and left the old kibble for last or didn't even want to finish it. This led to another bag and another, eventually I had switched over to Ziwi Peak 100%. It's been over a month now, my Dog looks forward to feeding time, devours the food and leaves nothing behind. Stool volume is way down, no more fillers or things that are only detrimental, just like nature intended. Also noticed a huge improvement in the breath department, along with no issues with poop time or loose stools. Skin is improving, nibbling and paw chewing is declining. All the noted benefits of the food is coming into fruition and I hope it continues. My Dog loves Ziwi Peak and also the Ziwi Peak treats. The cost is high, but when you weigh out the positives and vet visits you may avoid due to feeding it along with having a happy healthy Dog, it's a small price to pay. Also as noted by Ziwi Peak, the portion sizes are smaller than what's typical of foods containing loads of fillers and carbs, and believe it or not the recommended daily feeding size quite adequately satisfies my Dog's hunger and also the included measuring cup in each bag is a nice touch. I also have to commend Ziwi Peak's Customer Service, I received one bag that had a different smell than what I was use to, was concerned though there was nothing probably wrong with it, appears a tear or wasn't properly sealed. After contacting Ziwi Peak via e-mail, I got a response in a less than 1 hour from the Co-Founder of the company, who offered to send a replacement bag, when it arrived not only did they replace the bag, but they also included a free bag of Ziwi Peak Venison Treats which made my Dog very happy. So I would rate their Customer Service #1, which matches the quality of the food as well.

Satisfies my picky pomsky
This is just the kind of food my bougie dog needed. I have a pomsky that has always been super snobby, I mean, picky, about her food. I saw this food in a local store, and after reading the reviews here on Amazon, I ordered a bag. From the smell alone, she was already excited to get her dinner. She gobbled it up so quick. Because the price point is a little high, we always do a half scoop of this food, then another half scoop of some other kibble on top of it. More often than not, my pup will sort out the other kibble and only eat this food. She is now consistently eating her breakfast and dinner every day, rather than choosing to skip meals because she isn't into the food. I like that the food is mostly meat and not full of fillers. And the fact that my dog loves it so much tells me it's a high-quality, tasty food. I've been a repeat buyer of this brand, and all the flavors are a hit with my picky eater.

“Real Ingredients, Big Taste, and Worth the Splurge!
My wife and I always prioritize products made from high-quality ingredients—especially those that start with real food. We’re willing to spend a bit extra if it means keeping our furry family member happy and healthy. Taste: While I can’t vouch for the flavor personally, our dog absolutely loves these treats. They’re perfect as a meal topper, but we usually use them for training or as quick rewards during walks. Bang for Your Buck: There’s a generous amount in each package, and we often break the pieces in half to stretch them further. Whenever they go on sale, we make sure to stock up! Drawbacks: Yes, they’re on the pricier side. But for us, it’s worth the investment for a healthier, happier pup. I particularly appreciate that they’re air-dried and made with simple, pronounceable ingredients—no mystery additives. Overall, I believe every dog deserves a treat like this, and watching how excited my dog gets confirms they’re a winner. I’m happy to recommend them to other dog owners who want to go the extra mile for their pets.

Best meal topper!
Order this ALL THE TIME. My dog loves it and will only eat her food if I sprinkle a pinch of this in it. Too pricey to use as regular food. Smells like real dried meat and cartilage. No diarrhea when used as a treat and in small amounts.

4 out of 6 paws like it. If you have a picky dog & tried everything .. try this!
Ok! I have 2 pure Yorkies , 2 shorkies , 1 Shih Tzu and a pit ( who’s 14 - senior doggy). 4 will pick this over hard dog food every time ! It comes in different flavors , I buy the beef and chicken . I do wish for loyal customers they offer a coupon or rewards thing . 1 Small bag last me 2/3 days maybe so I still buy hard dog food for in between days . Hard dog food bag 6-10 bucks , this is 20 for small . Sooo coupons or rewards system for loyal customers would be awesome . That’s with any dog food or treats . When you have more then 2 dogs it’s costly ! I rescued 2 off the street. Anyway … It comes fresh , sometimes I don’t like when I open it and it lookes like 85% of the bag is what they got from the bottom of the barrel . They are small square pieces , I even brake them in half for my 2 smaller yorkies , I brake a tiny square in half and it don’t crumble a part so when I open the bag and it looks like dumbed blended Oreos in the bag … I question the quality . It looks like it was the last bit at the bottom of the barrel and they didn’t want to waste it .. money over quality … I feel like . That has not happen a lot ! I order 1 or 2 bags a week , if I don’t buy it in store . So it’s happen maybe 2 or 3 times in 8 months . Over all … I have tried 17 different kinds of hard dog food through out the last couple years and most of the time I have to buy 2 or 3 kinds. They are picky . One likes this , the other likes that , two don’t like nothing . It’s like picky kids !!!!! So when I got this and 4 out of 6 liked it …. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER !!!!!! I like it’s air dry , they don’t like that dehydrated stuff. They eat 2 meals a day and I have a fresh plate of hard food in 2 rooms all day.

Soft topper/treats with great ingredients
My pit bull and frenchie LOVE these!! I add it to their food for a soft texture but I use them mostly as training treats. My super food motivated Frenchie goes nuts for these. Definitely love the ingredients and I have had zero issues with their bellies. They’re easy to break apart into smaller pieces but they’re small enough to use as high protein treats. They love the taste/smell of them for sure.
