Dang. This is an outstanding piece of cheap Chinese ... stuff.
First of all, I don't write a ton of reviews, and I bought this product with my own cash, all $7.50 of it. The one I got is the "medium" size.Second, please understand that I am somewhat of a connoisseur of cheap Chinese junk (CCJ). I buy a lot at Harbor Freight. I throw a decent portion of it away, but sometimes I score a deal so impressive that I end up delighted with it. Got an 8-amp angle grinder from them for $11, one of my favorite tools in my shop, it's seriously decent at a very cheap price. Now to this product: I needed some portable lights because I'm installing radiant barrier in my attic and there's no light up there. I bought a couple of Harbor Freight "Braun Portable Work Light" for $15 each, and they work. I had even forgot that I ordered this "LED Portable Solar Work Light" from Amazon (we were down without power from a hurricane for a few days, and we didn't have any light, and this thing was $7.50 so I thought "what the hell" and ordered one.)It just arrived, and like I said, I forgot I ordered it. When I saw the box and opened it, I thought "What fresh hell am I in for today?" I pulled it out of the box, it was just stuffed in there with a tiny USB cord and a little metal hook flopping around loose. It has all the hallmarks of classic CCJ: it's made of flimsy orange plastic so you'll think it's an industrial workplace piece, the flimsy nuts that tighten the handle feel like they won't last maybe three uses... you know the deal. But then... I turned it on. And then I started playing with it and using it, and I discovered something rare but exquisite: this thing kicks @SS!Yeah it's cheap - it was $7.50. But whoever designed this thing really put some thought into it. They didn't just slap an LED panel in a plastic wrapper and ship it out on AliExpress; they made an actual, functional, usable tool and then slapped it in a plastic wrapper and shipped it out on AliExpress. For $7.50.(I keep harping on the price - it was a great price, Amazon says it's 50% off the normal price, and that attractive price is the main reason I ordered this. If I had paid $20 for this I'm sure my enthusiasm would be a tad more restrained).Okay, so let's dig into it. It arrives fully charged. When does that happen? They thought it through and made sure that it was usable right when you receive it. That's a nice surprise.Second, it has magnets in the handle. Big deal, right? My Harbor Freight Braun lights have magnets too, and I slapped one on the refrigerator and watched it slide right down the side of the fridge. Of course the magnets aren't strong enough to hold its own weight, it's CCJ! It's par for the course, right? I mean, I bet if I took the batteries out, the Braun would stay put on the fridge, but what good is a battery-powered light without batteries? Once you add the weight of those four AA's, it overpowers the magnet and you start to feel a strong urge to throw it in the trash. Or at least I do. But not the amazing no-name Solar LED Portable Work Light! Its magnets actually held it in place on the fridge. Glory be! But seriously, that's a great sign, it means there was some actual design engineering involved in this product. Now, don't get me wrong, it doesn't hold onto the fridge like epoxy glue; the magnets are just strong enough to leave the unit in place where I put it. But that's enough for me. I can stick it on a duct in my attic and it'll actually stay there. But don't go magnetting it to your 4WD truck and then go blasting through the desert; all you'll get is one lost Cheap Chinese Worklight. The magnets aren't super-sticky, but they are actually enough to hold its own weight. It has a USB-C cable with it. It can be charged up by your modern phone charger, as well as by solar. That's nice. Seriously; I'm going back in the attic tomorrow and I don't know how long the solar charging process takes (or if it works at all, for that matter) but the ability to rapidly charge this unit back up is a nice bonus. It also has a regular USB-A outlet so you can charge your phone or ... well, pretty much anything else that's USB powered. Now, the output isn't a quick-charger, it doesn't spray electrons out like a fire hose, it gives you the old USB standard of 5V at 1 amp, so it'll charge your phone s l o w l y. But at least it'll do it. If you're stuck in the hurricane-derived power outage and your phone is dead, at least you have an option with this little unit. Nicely done, design-guy!It has a tripod socket. I love that. My HF Braun lights don't have a tripod socket! They just have a floppy handle and you put them on the ground and try to kind of aim them and good luck with that. Or you can use the magnets and watch them fall down unless you take the batteries out. But the no-name LED Portable Solar Work Light (NNLPSWL for short) has a tripod socket! That's a decent mounting option, I wasn't expecting it, and I think Mr. Designer Guy in China has earned a cup of coffee for putting that in.How about the light? It's BRIGHT. And the field of view is WIDE. And there's no horrible spotlight situation, like on my $2.49 Harbor Freight Head Lamp. That thing, sheesh, it's like one of those old vintage C-battery flashlights we had when I was a kid a long, long time ago; it makes a little pinpoint circle that's comparatively very bright, and then a little trickle of light surrounding it. Pretty useless. But the NNLPSWL rocks the house. I took it into a dark bedroom, pointed it at the white ceiling, and clicked it on, and it lit up the whole room to a really comfortable level. If we had had this during the hurricane, it'd be like we never lost the lights at all. It's totally usable. I can't scientifically compare it to the Harbor Freight, but I'd guess it's at least twice if not 3x as bright as the HF.Batteries: don't need any! It uses a built-in, rechargeable battery. The Harbor Freight CCJ Braun lights need four AA batteries, and provide about 4 hours of usable light. Have you priced decent AA batteries recently? About $7 for a four-pack of alkalines, and those will power the HFCCJ for about four hours. This entire light cost that same $7, and it came pre-charged, so basically the light is free. If I get ONE USE out of it, it was money well spent. If it last two uses, I'm money ahead of the game.I think the design and the performance are great. Can't say that about build quality; I do expect that if you drop this light it's probably game over. So don't drop it. Stick it up (with magnets!) and use it, and as long as you get it at the cheap price of $7.50, you'll get your money's worth. Let me put it this way - my wife and I went to Arby's and those *******s charged us $24.50 for a couple of sandwiches and shakes. $24.50! WE COULD HAVE BOUGHT THREE OF THESE LIGHTS FOR LESS THAN THAT! And while I don't know how long these lights will last, I am confident they'll be around a lot longer than those Arby's sandwiches were. Like I always say, you (rarely) get what you pay for. A lot of CCJ isn't worth the low price you pay, and that's just sad. I can honestly say that with this NNLPSWL, I feel like I got a deal. During Bidenomics even! Y'know what? I think I'm gonna order 3 more of these while the price is cheap, and stack 'em away for the next hurricane or any other lighting-related purpose. I know very well what the risks are, I've bought enough CCJ to know that if I leave 'em in the box for 6 months, when I go to use them they may have rotted right through or otherwise just not work. But I'm feeling lucky. I think this is a good product, and I'm going to grab a few more.

Bright
Great light. Easy charging in an overcast day. The magnets don’t hold the weight of the light but they might be okay to wrangle a couple bolts or washers.

Super bright
I got this after someone loaned me one recently, I was so impressed with the bright flood for taking pictures at night.I tossed it on top of the engine working on my truck, and the light flooded the engine bay nicely, usually a difficult place to get light to work. The wire hook for hanging leaves a tiny bit to be desired, it snaps into the handle blocking the magnets, so you have to take it off to use the magnets... someplace to snap the clip in for storage, or a different mounting point would be a little better - BUT not enough to worry about, I'll probably never need the hanging hook anyway.I plugged it in to my phone charger and it charged quickly (once I ran the battery down the first time)The flashing red/blue light part - well, that can be illegal to use in a lot of places, but I'm sure if you were to put it in the road for a breakdown you wouildn't have a problem.

Not a 250w light at all.
It states as 250w light and it produce less light than a 50w led flood light. Very disappointed. Amazon should take strict notice of all the led light being sold on amazon for their claim lumens and wattage. Very frustrating to waste all the time browsing and then going all way to ship it back.

They do their job as advertised
Run time seems good. I haven't timed any of the settings but with a full charge they last a couple of hours. There doesn't seem to be much difference in the 3 brightness settings, more like a change in color temperature. They do take a long time to charge and that could be improved. There is room in the box for 2 more batteries and I will probably do that at some time. May install a better charge controller so it will recharge faster, but for the cost they are good lights. I did install stronger magnets so it would hold better on curved surfaces but they do fine on flat metal. I would buy them again.

Great light, but not a “rough” light.
Don’t beat the daylights out of it, but otherwise it a great light. After cycling to the mode you want if you wait 5 seconds the power button now is an “off” button, which is nice so you don’t have to cycle the rest of the modes to turn it off. ALSO, this is just the perfect size to set a gallon milk jug size water bottle on top. If you do this the water scatters the light and makes a perfect table lantern.

Cheap
The first time I dropped it, it came apart. The magnets aren't strong enough to hold the weight of the light either. I gave it 2 stars only because it's solar charging ability is actually good. Other than that, im almost positive that the advertised 120 watt light output is false. For the price of this light im sure i could've done better somewhere else.
