My Food Just Got a Tropical Vacation.
Fellow flavor adventurers and anyone whose spice rack was starting to feel a little... beige, let me tell you about my latest discovery: Alaea Coarse Crystal Red Hawaiian Salt. I've always been a fan of salt (because, you know, flavor), but I usually stuck to the basic white stuff. Then I saw this red salt. Infused with volcanic clay? From Hawaii? My taste buds immediately booked a one-way ticket to the tropics. When this bag of vibrant, coarse red crystals arrived, I was genuinely excited. It looks less like salt and more like tiny, edible rubies. It has a beautiful, earthy color that instantly makes any dish look fancier. My plain white salt shaker is now looking very jealous and contemplating its life choices. Using this salt is an experience. The coarse texture is fantastic for finishing dishes – you get a satisfying little crunch and a burst of flavor. And the taste! It's not just salty; there's a subtle, earthy undertone from the Alaea clay that adds a unique depth. It's like regular salt went on a spiritual retreat and came back with a richer perspective on life (and flavor). I've sprinkled it on grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, and even avocado toast. Each time, it elevates the dish not just in taste, but in appearance. That pop of red is just stunning! My food is now Instagram-ready with minimal effort. It's like giving your dinner a tiny, glamorous makeover. The fact that it's all-natural, non-GMO, and free of weird additives is a huge bonus. I feel good about using it, and my food tastes fantastic. Plus, knowing it's traditionally used for purification adds a little extra mystique. I might start sprinkling it around my house, just in case. If you're tired of boring salt, want to add a beautiful pop of color and a unique earthy flavor to your dishes, and appreciate a product with a touch of tradition, give this Hawaiian red salt a try. It's brought a little bit of the islands to my kitchen and made my food feel significantly more special. I'm thoroughly impressed with this flavorful find.

Best salt ever!!!
Love this salt. It is perfect for your hawaiian dishes as well as non hawaiian dishes. The color is beautiful red,it's a natural red no dyes. Has the perfect coarseness for both cooking and finishing your meals. It has fine texture yet is still not powdery in texture.

"Mildly" Salty
We use this salt for a Kailua Pulled Pork recipe. Despite rubbing the roast with a good amount of this salt, it is not a salty as your expect or would be of other salts were used.

Interesting flavor
I was following a recipe from a native Hawaiian’s food blog for Kahlua Pig, and she recommended this salt. Before buying this product, I tried her recipe first with kosher salt, but luckily common sense prevailed, and I only added 1/4 (or less) of the amount recommended to substitute for the Alaea red sea salt. Turned out nice, but I wanted to taste the real recipe, so I ordered this and gave it a go. This Alaea red sea salt is not very salty! No wonder her recipe called for 2 Tbsp to season a 4# pork roast! It also has a unique mineral flavor. We really enjoyed the authentic version of her recipe, so, even though this isn’t a regular spice in my daily cooking, it has a permanent home in my pantry. I’ll have to experiment with how well it suits other recipes.

This is some of the best salt I’ve came across. U don’t need much. Give a great color to a brisket, salmon, chicken ribs etc. I’ve take a tablespoon of it, and ground it up into a fine powder and added just a bit to salads for enhanced taste & color, like potatoe salad @ ceasers. You do not need much!
