Western Digital 3TB WD Purple Surveillance Internal Hard Drive HDD - SATA 6 Gb/s, 256 MB Cache, 3.5" - WD33PURZ

My first HDD was a Seagate 1-TB that came with my Hiseeu NVR. The Seagate lasted just over 1-year and Hiseeu would not replace the HDD unless I gave them a 5-Star review which I was not going to do just to get a free Seagate 1-TB HDD. Plus I would never give a 5-Star review on a junk system that I was sold so instead, I bought this Western Digital 3TB not knowing if it would work but once I installed it, it did work right away without even formatting it. I still did format it eventhough it worked as soon as I plugged into my SATA/ power cables. This product does work. It is easy to install. It's easy to format and it was delivered the next day after ordered. I highly recommend this product for your surveillance camera system. It also has a lot more storage than the 1-TB that comes with the Hiseeu system. This HDD is quiet and I cannot here it at all. It has only been installed for about 48- hours so time will tell how long it will actually last but as of now I am very impressed overall. If something goes wrong with it over time I will update my review but for now 5-Stars.

I had the 2GB version continuously recording for 7 years with zero issues. Just got the 3GB now and tested OK, brand new (mfg. Sep. 2025).

I was not able to playback on my home surcurity cameras. I purchased the disk, it has more storage, little to no noise and has been working properly.

Both drives from the same manufacturer date and R/N number (batch?). Would only show up as a O B drive in disk manager and would not recognize in security DVR, Windows 10 via USB external dock or even directly connected to SATA. Spoke with WD support and the confirmed after some testing BOTH drives were bad. They said to return to the place of purchase since they were just purchases 7 days ago. Never had this experience and pretty concerning they have a manufacturing issue not being caught on drives before packaging and sale. Going to try once more, hoping not to get a pair from the same batch/date as these.

My original hard drive went bad after several years. This replacement not only gave new life to my system, but increased the size for a very reasonable cost. Truly plug and play component which was well packaged.

El disco llegó en buen tiempo, una semana. Bien empacado y sin muestra de ser usado o remanufacturado. Se puso en un DVR de 12 canales, falta ver cómo se comporta con el tiempo por el momento se ve bien. El almacenamiento que muestra en el DVR es de 2.8Gb

Came as defective, the HDD can't be started. It is either defect from factory, but likely mishandling by Amazon. The packing came ok-ish but with a lot of deformations.

A little loud, but otherwise as expected. The packaging was adequate, I'm guessing the reviews complaining about the box were for third party sellers. The SMART stats said the drive was brand new, so I didn't get a used model. The speed is plenty fast for a few concurrent video streams and reading video files. I'm able to store almost a month of videos for two cameras.
