Review: This is a fantastic book, the narrator helpfully states the founders financial position at various points in time, helping to establish the pace of their growth. The lessons shared; life and business, are invaluable to the reader interested in didactic business acumen and providence. Stories of success may only be told through both the trials and the triumphs of great leaders, who stood on the shoulders of giants. Review: Amazing story of the Firestone company...since the very begining. Very good book, very nice reading, very good advices/lessons about entrepernership and how to build a company. Very good reading.

If you know you will re-read a book, then the book pays for itself. This is one of those books. Farnam Street blog atomizes and studies concepts under a microscope. This book zooms out to show many of those ideas combined together through a business biography. Harvey Firestone, while not a perfect man, struggled with many of the same issues business owners and operators deal with today, including: hiring people that think clearly, delegation, balancing the details of the business with thought and actions for the future, stomping bureaucracy, developing functional literacy of the technical aspects of a business as a non-technical individual, fundraising, employee incentives, legal battles, etc… The wisest people learn from the mistakes and successes of others. Seeing how another individual dealt with these timeless problems will help you solve the same problems.
