I am an avid user of doterra essential oils (therapeutic grade oils). what is the difference between this and doterra lavender oil put in a capsule?

"Therapeutic Grade" is a marketing term. If you are interested in what species Lavender, farming practices, or other information, contact the company directly and ask about their third party testing (DoTerra does NOT do third party test FYI. Ask your upline.)

How long does it take to start working?

It takes about 30 to 45 minutes before I start feeling better. I'm going through a hard few years and I find I like this natural product much better than any prescription products with their many side effects. I trust this quality company and will be purchasing Lavela again!

Does this product help with sleep issues?

Depends on how severe your sleep issues are. It can be very helpful for relaxing, does awesome for my heart palpitations, quick fix for my daughter's anxiety. For straight up sleeping though I order the plain Kavinace (not PM formula) from O vitamin Pro (from my experience the freshest Kavinace) and take 3-4 like my ND told me to, though the label says take 2. On a really rough day I will combine it with the lavender soft gel and sleep like a baby. I have taken Ambien and other hard scripts in the past and the combo I take now is way better with zero next day grogginess. Hope you get some rest!

Has anyone experienced an opposite reaction? I often have atypical reactions to supplements and felt this increased agitation and anxiety.

Not on this I haven't. Every time my GP or other doctor put me on something I seemed to always get the opposite results or the rare side effects. I started seeing a NP and he put me on this for heart palps. Helped a lot for that and helps my daughters anxiety. Just a thought, if you suffer from an anxiety disorder, maybe the pill is not strong enough? Pills are one of my phobias since I get so many bad reactions and taking a new one normally trigger panic attacks. I take 4 Kavinace at night to help keep me asleep and 2 during the day to help keep calm, per my NP. Overall that has been one of the biggest helps at controlling my anxiety levels. Loads of sleep, restful sleep. Down side they don't sell it on here, you have to find another online source and there seems to be quite a few.
