Giro Tremor MIPS Child Unisex Youth Cycling Helmet - Matte Black (2022), Universal Child (47-54 cm)

We got this Giro Tremor MIPS helmet for our two and a half year old to use as she is learning to ride a bike. It's an expensive helmet, but it felt like the better option overall when compared to all the other helmets for kids. The helmet is lightweight, so it's easy for my child to wear. Many other helmets for children seem far too heavy and some parents have found this to cause the child to not want to wear it. It's a MIPS helmet, so if she ends up taking a bad spill, this may help reduce concussion. The helmet is well ventilated, and also has a removable sun visor. The roc loc adjustment dial at the rear of the helmet really helps get a proper fit and it's easy to use. One minor downside is the adjustability on the chin strap. It does adjust, but not as tightly as I would have wanted for my child. She will grow into the helmet as time goes by, and I am hoping the helmet lasts her a few good years. Overall it's a good helmet, and even though it is pricey, it's designed to protect her head and her brain, so it's an item you really don't want to skimp on.

The helmet fits my three year old son’s head, but the chin buckle is incredibly loose even at its tightest setting. There is no way to adjust the strap around his ears and the chin strap does not tighten much at all. Bought the helmet early and kept it for a birthday present and was disappointed when he opened it that it totally didn’t fit. Unfortunately, now it’s too late to return it.
