OK, so why do we even need a new emitter screen for our outdoor patio heaters? For me the old screen rusted out which meant the big 3 foot wide heat shield on the top of the heater would no longer stay attached. So I took a flyer and bought this replacement screen for the 5-10 year old Costco patio heater I bought years ago. Now I also could have spent $170 for a new one instead of $43 for this screen. So the photos show how I replaced it. The first thing is to take the old screen off which is simple 5 Philips head screws at the base of the old screen. Take the screen off which might be attached to the 3 foot wide heat shield on top. The hardest part was separating the rusted out bolts from the heat shield which you have to do to connect the new screen to the old heat shield. I used two big vise grip pliers I had and made pretty quick work of them. When putting Humpty Dumpty back together again you first connect the new screen to the old heat shield and then connect the combined screen and shield to the heater again with your 5 NEW screws that came with the screen (my old screws didn’t work) and voila you are back in business and everything works perfectly! You could easily get a new one but then you have to throw the old one out somewhere and put the new one together which is what I would typically do but this replacement screen was pretty easy to do if you have big strong pliers like vise grips to separate the 3 old rusted bolts and nuts that connect the screen to the top heat shield.

After having our heater fall over several times this winter due to high winds, and having to buy a replacement top for it because it was dented, I figured I'd give this a try. We filled it with about 25 lbs of play sand and set it in the bottom of the heater (we did not bolt it in, but it came with the bolts). We just had yet another night of high winds (40+ mph gusts) and it does not move!! The heater companies really should do a better job of recommending a product like this because they are not sturdy standing on their own and most people are not going to want to bolt the heater to their deck or patio.

Cant speak much to quality of product. but when searching for replacement parts for the amazon basics patio heater this was the first recommendation. DOES NOT FIT. would return if I could, but ill just throw it away at this point

A sixty mile per hour wind gust blew over one of my patio heaters. I tried hard to bend the reflector back into shape without success. So I was glad to find this replacement part and it fit perfectly. Doesn't come with any instructions on how to assemble the reflector, but I figured it out with only one oops along the way. I'd give it five stars except for the fact that it took me a half hour to peel the blue protective film off each piece. My first attempt led to the film tearing off in small pieces. I finally worked out a technique that worked in peeling off the whole film in one piece.

My old burner finally gave up the ghost after 16 years (probably needed replacement earlier) and I checked the measurements on this one and it was a perfect fit, even better design than the original. Easy to install.
