Febreze Car Air Freshener Vent Clip Platinum Ice Scent, .07 oz. Car Vent Clip, Pack of 4

This is just a "first impressions" review for now. I'll come back later and update my review as I continue to use the vent clip and see how long it lasts. I drive a 2004 car that, to put it mildly, has lost its freshness. I am a very fragrance-sensitive person and can't deal with anything that smells very strong, no matter how nice the scent is. I took a chance on this vent clip primarily because it was made by Febreze, a product I have used many times in my home and which does not bother me fragrance-wise. Installing the vent clip is a breeze. Just pull the vent clip to the fully open position until you hear a click and slide it into any of your car vents. Because I was worried whether I could deal with the fragrance in the small, enclosed space of a car, I put it in a vent that was not directly in front of me, but one I could reach to remove it in case it proved to be too much. One thing I LOVE about this vent clip is that it has a sliding control mechanism to control how much fragrance is released! Brilliant! So of course, I set it on the lowest setting and off I went to do some errands. I had the AC blasting because I'd just gotten into a hot car, so it didn't take long before the first tendrils of scent reached my sensitive nose. There were some initial moments of "oh no" when my stomach felt nauseous, but then I got accustomed to it and was fine. I got the Linen & Sky scent, which I thought would be the most natural/neutral scent. I went to three different stores, getting in and out of the car for two of the three. The scent definitely seemed the strongest when the AC was on high after getting back into a hot car, so when I felt just a bit overwhelmed, I just turned the AC down and I was fine. So that's it for my "first impression" review. I'll be back in a few weeks to update the review in regard to how long the vent clip lasted and whether I continued to tolerate the fragrance well. UPDATE: After several weeks, the fragrance is actually very pleasant! It reminds me of Downy fabric softener, a smell I LOVE. At this point, the strength of fragrance is completely manageable, even for me! :) UPDATE 7/14/15: Almost 24 hours after I installed the vent clip, I got back into the car to go to a doctor's appointment. When I opened the car door, the scent was noticeable, but not offensive. While driving, either the scent was not as strong as the first day, or I had acclimated to it already. The most noticeable thing when I got in the car was that the liquid in the vent clip seemed to have reduced pretty substantially after only one use. That was really disappointing. UPDATE 7/19/15: One week since I installed the vent clip. Got into the car an hour ago to do some errands and noticed the liquid in the vent clip has, again, reduced pretty substantially after only a couple of uses (I am retired and don't drive every day). The liquid in the vent is now within a 1/4 inch of being empty. Wow. If I'd driven the car every day this past week, it would probably be gone by now! UPDATE 7/29/15: I had a 3-hour round-trip drive on 7/21 and an hour or so one on 7/24, yet the fragrance is still hanging in there! After my last update, I thought it was just a matter of days until the fragrance in the vent clip was empty. Yet, what seems to have happened is that what used to appear in the "window" of the vent clip as liquid, now appears as gel-like. This has halted (for now) the depletion of the fragrance fluid. This is good news...I think! :) UPDATE 8/27/15: Last week, I got back from a week-long road trip during which I put 1000+ miles on the car. The liquid/gel in the vent clip is no longer noticeable; however, I still get a hit of fragrance when I first start the car. The fragrance isn't as ever-present as it used to be, but it's still hanging in there...just barely. I just ordered a pack of 4 of these, because I really like the fragrance and this first one lasted longer than I expected from reading other reviews.

Great smell. No leakage.

Use these in both my cars love the smell, more of a masculine smell. I haven’t had any leak or malfunction so far. Fit easy on my vents. On con is I do have to replace them every 2 weeks with them on high.

I’ve been using the Platinum Ice Febreze car vent clips and they definitely do the job. The scent is powerful — I can only run one or two at most or it’s too strong. Any passengers that get in my car never notice the smoke smell at all, which is the main reason I use them. The only downside is they don’t last very long. After about 3–4 weeks, the scent fades and it’s time to replace them. Still, while they’re fresh, they work great and keep the car smelling clean. Overall, a solid choice if you don’t mind changing them out regularly.

Great scent! Do not come like photo. Will be delivered on a sheet of cardboard. Still the same product.

So normally we buy the platinum ice scent (smells like men’s cologne) from this brand but it’s been so hard to find that we decided to get this scent thinking it would smell decent..... my husband is a construction worker and likes his truck smelling good... so at the moment of buying this we were just trying to find one cause the other had been empty awhile... Well...We were wrong... this scent was horrible!! It in no way smelled like a new car scent. I cannot describe the scent but it made my husband nausea so he took it out and put it in the kitchen (not knowing what else to do with it) that’s when I really got to smell it... The reason I gave it at least 3 stars was cause we do like this brand and we have been using it for years!!! We just do not like this particular scent!! I threw away the 2 air freshener packs that came in this scent and ran to the Wally World to find something in place of platinum ice (whichever found in another brand) so we could get rid of this terrible new car scent that was lingering in my husbands truck!! I really wish I could describe the new car smell air freshener but I can’t..... its not even close to it!! It’s somewhat like a moldy musty smell in my opinion!! We hope Frebreze didn’t discontinue the platinum ice scent for this cause that would be a mistake.... lots of men we know use that scent cause it’s manly!!! Anyhow..... I do not suggest you buy this scent... I would say if you’re really curious what it smells like go to your local store and scratch and sniff before you buy it.... like I said we all like different scents and prefer different scent... this definitely was not for us!! It’s neither feminine or manly... it’s just very odd! On a better note.... these frebreze car air fresheners are generally really good, they last long, they clip to your ac vent which helps circulate the scent every time you turn it on. No need to constantly spray anything and no air freshener tin can to take up the cup holder space!! We like these ac clips just not this scent!! It’s a good value and reliable... when you get the right scent you like!! I hope this helpful!!
