OWC 32GB (2X16GB) ECC DDR4 RAM - works with QNAP TS-h973AX
Purchased this OWC 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR4 2666MHz PC4-21300 CL19 ECC SODIMM 2Rx8 1.2V (OWC2C6D42R8032P) hoping it will work with QNAP TS-h973AX that accepts ECC memory but came with regular DDR4. Installation took 30 seconds (it took longer to power off the NAS and remove HDDs to get access to memory slots), powered the QNAP TS-h973AX on, and...viola, 32GB memory was recognized! Memory is Made in Taiwan (not China!) and uses SK Hynix DRAM modules. Runs fine for 3 days so far, convinced that should I have any issues, OWC will provide a promised limited lifetime warranty. Price was also lower than other ECC modules everywhere, even the no-name ones. [admin@NAS ~]$ sudo dmidecode -t memory # dmidecode 3.1 Getting SMBIOS data from sysfs. SMBIOS 3.2.0 present. Great For Synology NAS
Speed of the memory helps upgrade. PerformanceI have had no issues with as its an easy install and recognizes the memory with no issue. It is compatible with the Synology DS1923 and great value instead of purchasing from Synology for their specific memory.

Working on Synology Diskstation 1522+
We've all wanted to upgrade the RAM in our Synology Diskstations to run more docker containers, virtual machines, or packages. But GOOD LORD does Synology overcharge for RAM. I mean, even Tim Cook is jealous of how much Synology gets away with overcharging for RAM. Saw this listing for RAM compatible with my Synology Diskstation 1522+, and at nearly ONE TENTH(!!!) of the price of the official Synology module, figured I would give it a shot. Chips are SK Hynix as the other reviewer reported. Slapped it in the Diskstation, booted right up, no issues so far. Extremely thankful for OWC for providing these modules at fair prices. Going to stay vigilant for the next month or so to see if any latent errors or crashes occur. If they do, I will update this review. But so far I'm satisfied. ONE MONTH UPDATE: I have been running these modules for about a month and have not experienced any issues. Diskstation 1522+ is running solid with tons of containers and VMs, no crashes or resets or anything like that. TWO MONTH UPDATE: Still no issues, working great.

Works great in Synology DS1522+
I swapped the factory 8GB of ECC RAM for this kit of 16GB x2. I'm able to run VM's and Docker containers without any RAM resource issues.

I recently upgraded my Synology DS923+ with the OWC 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 RAM, and the experience has been outstanding. Installation was straightforward, and the system recognized the full 32GB immediately without any compatibility issues or warnings. Since the upgrade, I've noticed improved performance, especially when running multiple applications simultaneously. The ECC feature adds an extra layer of reliability, which is crucial for data integrity in a NAS environment. Overall, this memory upgrade has enhanced the efficiency of my NAS setup. I highly recommend this OWC RAM to anyone looking to boost their Synology DS923+'s performance.
