Perfect OEM Replacement

Perfect fix for my P0442 code with engine light on
I purchased this replacement OE gas cap for my 08 Yukon Denali. My engine light came on from a P0442 Small EVAP Leak code. I researched this code and learned that unless there is a problem filling the gas tank with continual vapor locking, a majority of the time the gas cap is the culprit. (Note: If you are having trouble filling the tank, it's most likely a vent valve problem). I always tighten my cap three clicks, so it wasn't loose. The rubber gasket also looked ok, but I guess after 113K miles it was no longer properly sealing. I replaced the cap and used my OBDII scanner to clear the code. FYI -- It took nearly 500 miles and one week of driving for all the vehicles monitors to test and set to "Ready" status. You can pick up an Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN Diagnostic Scan Tool for OBDII Vehicles scanner for under $20 on Amazon and it's worth its weight in gold. I was able to check the monitors and the Evap monitor is the last to test. One week since I replaced the cap, finally the Evap monitor did its test and set to "Ready" status with NO CODES. This means the cap was the culprit. This cap through the dealer would have definitely cost more and I would have been paying a diagnostic fee of $95 on top of the part.

Its been working good hasent been broken its holds the gas cap good and the cap seal it good no more dct codes listed on dash , its not the oem but its gets the job done .thank you .
