Fantastic kit. What we expect from Airfix

This isn't like the models we used to build, although those too were small they came with clear instructions and beautiful pieces. In this kit everything is microscopic and the instructions are so muddled up and just awful to work with. The pieces are a nightmare, they just aren't large enought to grip or glue properly and teh assembly is so bad it constantly comes apart. None of the edges have a good hold for the glue to grip. The instructions need to be clear and concise not all over the place. Not happy with this kit.

ワイルドキャットの武骨さを良く再現したキットだと思います。アルマホビーのキットに比べパーツ数も少なく組み立てやすそうです。あまり細かい事は考えず「サクッ！」組上げるといいと思います。

キット自体は2016年に登場した物で、本製品はデカールとパッケージを変更した再販キットです。 1/72スケールのF4F-4はより新しいアロマホビー製もありますが、ディテールやモールドのシャープさではアロマホビー製が勝るものの、本製品は飛行状態や主翼を折り畳み状態に再現できるアドバンテージがあります。 本製品も基本的なプロポーションやディテールは優れているので、このスケールではベストと呼べるキットでしょう。 マーキングは、トーチ作戦時の空母レンジャー所属機(VF-41)と、ガダルカナルの米海兵隊(VMF-221)のエースである、ジェームズ・エルムズ・スウェット中尉(15.5機撃墜)乗機の二種が付属します。 スウェット中尉機は垂直尾翼に描かれたヘアレスジョーのキャラクターが目を引きますが、このマーキングはガダルカナル配備後に削除されており、スウェット中尉はこの機体で1943年4月7日に九九艦爆を7機撃墜しましたが、この戦闘でこの機体も撃墜されて失われています。(スウェット中尉は脱出して無事) デカールは近年のエアフィックススタンダードと言える、カルトグラフ製が付属するので品質は安心です。 エアフィックスのキットは、気がつけば市場から姿を消しているのが常なので、早めの確保をお勧めします。
