This is a beautiful one of a kind handmade olive wood salad bowl, and salad spoon & fork. I didn’t know about the company Elevate Lifestyle, so I went to their website, and they had the kind of mission statement I was looking for, sustainable and ethically sourced. The website said they welcomed questions, so I emailed them and got an answer back in hours. It was great to work with them.

This was a gift for a friend at their wedding…it was so nice I had trouble giving it away…when my daughter saw it on my kitchen counter before wrapping, she tried to take it home. No worries though, I got another one for her as a Christmas gift.

The first bowl set I received had a number of problems.I love the rustic live edge look on wood products, and their natural irregularities.In the case of this set, the first bowl I received went a bit too far on that.There was such a large dip on one side of the bowl, like a big rectangle cutout. It was so deep that it left very little bowl left to work with if you’re using for serving salad.The other issue with the first order was the the ‘fork’ serving utensil was chipped, with a piece of the broken wood still in box. It was also not finished properly. Rough, splintered wood.For 115.00 dollars, I expect better.Amazon graciously replaced the product.Unfortunately that had issues as well.The replacement bowl has a huge crack on the inside and outside of bowl, filled with putty. How do I know if this putty is food safe putty? And I don’t want a salad bowl filled with putty, in a big long crack that may be compromised over time, unable to hold food.It’s a beautiful bowl, as olive wood is so lovely with all the natural lines in the wood.But I bought it to serve food in, which is why I paid so much for it, thinking I’d be getting a quality bowl that would last a long time with proper care and conditioning.It may not be useful for more than decoration, and in that case, I’d not spend so much money on it just for show.I don’t recommend this brand at all.Poor quality control.Too highly priced for the poor quality.

A beautiful handcrafted bowl of olive would which should last me a long time. Price was reasonable and shipping was fast and direct. I look forward to using it.

It was just as beautiful as the photo and plenty large and deep. The natural wood grain and live edge are gorgeous. My son and his fiancee loved it. It's a salad bowl and a piece of art!
