One of the strongest locks on the market and can recommend a solution for the weight issue
There isnt any lock which is burgular proof. Given this caveat if you are looking for the best that there is - then this is it ---- PROS 1/this is the thickest steel D lock and arguably the strongest 2/ being small, its hard to use a wedging device in between this and the bike to break it - 3/ you feel quality in your hand and its strong 4/ you can buy bike insurance for 5 years with this lock - however you have to register it - once bike stolen report to police - and show evidence of broken lock before you can paid insurance money (i have never experienced this but just am aware of this procedure) 5/ i am told by someone that the chunk appearance of it is a deterrant to stealing as it takes a lot longer to break into (i am told by someone who doesnt steal bikes so information perhaps not reliable) CONS 1/ very heavy and isnt easy to carry - this remains the biggest deterrant to purchase for some my SOLUTIONS TO THE WEIGHT ISSUE 1/ leave the lock at your work place etc if you use bike for commuting or have two locks for two destinations 2/ if you need to carry the lock for 'journeys to different destinations- i bought this product called lockrockit - i picked 3 of them for my 3 bikes for 30 dollars a piece - goes to back of saddle and job done - a perfect carry device for this D lock Overall a 5 star product and i do trust this lock (my humble view who has had 2 of their bikes stolen - locks broken into)

For cyclists - only for very high risk areas. Good for motorbikes.
This lock is very sturdy. In London angle grinder attacks are the norm - for this they would need to make two cuts through 18mm steel, that's quite a bit (takes about a minute total according to youtube, compared to about 30 seconds for something like the Kryptonite evolution). It is very heavy though. At 2kgs, that's 25% extra weight on my 8kg bike frame. It doesn't come with a bracket and it'd be too heavy for a backpack. If you were going to bring it everywhere, you might have well just have bought a cheaper, heavier bike and a cheaper, lighter lock - you'd have the same overall weight! So, my everyday lock is a Kryptonite Evolution, which is strong enough to deter most attacks and weighs just 1kg. This lock is used as a second D-Lock for max security when I know I am going to high risk areas. For that it's perfect I recommend it overall if you know you need something this secure. Although bear in mind it can still be cut with an angle grinder and lockpikinglawyer on youtube shows it's fairly easy to pick the lock, so it's strong but not impenetrable. Still get insurance!

A 3 Year Review: Worthy of More Than 5 Stars!
I recently had the experience of using a Kryptonite lock and felt compelled to share my thoughts on its performance and the customer service I received. The lock itself boasts impressive sturdiness, instilling confidence that it would be a formidable challenge for any attempt at cutting through. This level of security was a major plus for me. However, after three years of consistent use, I encountered an issue with the lock mechanism – it failed. Initially, this was a source of disappointment, considering the otherwise excellent performance of the lock. But what happened next truly set Kryptonite apart. Upon contacting Kryptonite regarding this issue, their response was swift and commendable. They didn't just address the problem; they went above and beyond by promptly sending a brand new replacement lock. This level of customer service was not only unexpected but also deeply appreciated. It's rare to find a company that stands so firmly behind their product, and this experience has only reinforced my trust in Kryptonite. In conclusion, considering both the quality of the lock and the exceptional customer service provided, I would gladly rate this product beyond the conventional 5 stars if possible. It's not just a purchase; it's an investment in security backed by a company that truly values its customers.

Strong lock
Really strong and sturdy lock. Downside to this is it is heavy but if you chuck it in a bag you get used to it quickly. Downsides is it's a bit smaller than regular dlocks so keep that in mind when deciding where on your bike to lock it and to what. The lock itself has a little rattle to it when locked but it's no worse than other premium dlocks. I don't think anything gets through this lock except the dreaded angle grinder unfortunately. It annoys me how cheap a decent battery powered angle grinder is now so unfortunately these have become the tool to use for theives and unfortunately it seems this lock wouldn't hold up long against one. But it's still a solid lock and there isn't much better on the market when it comes to dlocks so still a good lock for times when you need to briefly leave your bike or for securing it somewhere where it is already in a secure location with limited access for people like an office secured bike shed or put building.

Feels like it will be very secure
Unfortunately, with security products, you often only know how secure it really is when it doesn't work. So, I got this for my new ebike, as the insurance required SoldSecure Gold or better, so I decided to go for Diamond, and got this. It's very solid. The downside to that us that it is VERY heavy. Thankfully, I usually ride with panniers, so it can go in there. The lock isn't very big, but it's big enough to go around the bike frame and a bike rack or fence pole. You can't put it through the wheels as well, so I've got a lock cable for that. That means it's relatively easy to pinch a wheel, but not the bike. I don't reckon you could get through this without a noisy angle grinder, which would hopefully be a bit suspicious if the bike's parked in a busy area. My bike hasn't been stolen yet, so that's a good thing

Tuff as diamond
Bloomin Brilliant lock was attacked by an angle grinding thief muppet only damaged the outer surface after 5 mins . Still have my £2000 ebike . Only grumble is it's a pretty small D-Lock and it's quite heavy but definitely worth every penny .

Heavy and solid, hi quality
I needed a lock for my trike which was above normal strength. This thing is, according to an ex bike thief, almost impossible to remove in the short time needed with a power tool. A diamond cutter seems needed, or hi torque jaws of life. Nothing is unbreakable to a determined thief, but these are often ignored for an easier target. I'll let you know if anyone steals my trike and the police follow them on a GPS tracker.

Has already prevented theft by angle grinder on 3 separate occasions.
On the most notable occasion, I got back to my bike and saw people trying to use an angle grinder on it. Someone else nearby told me they'd been trying to get through the bike lock for about 10 minutes and they'd already phoned the police. This was in clear view of CCTV, with all of them looking directly at the camera with nothing covering their faces, and there were many witnesses being outside an open Tesco, so of course the police did nothing. It survived 10 minutes on an angle grinder. Admittedly it can't fit through my spokes and frame so I have to just lock up the frame itself, so I combine it with 2 Keeper locks, one on each wheel holding both to the rack as well. It loses out on ease of use points for that as the sheer bulk makes it difficult to find a rack I can use in a very anti-cycling county. Another thing the weight affects: my poor bloody shoulders. This thing weighs a ton! But if it means my bike will still be there when I get back to it, I say it's worth it. If, as I do, you live in a county in which bike theft is not just common, it's normal and to be expected, to the point where the police themselves have been known to steal bikes, and especially if you tend to lock up a bike and go out of sight for more than half an hour, I'd say absolutely get this lock. If the only times you stop are a quick stop somewhere you can still see your bike at all times, get something MUCH lighter, your shoulders will love you. Oh, and use the damn bike path, PAUL. It's perfectly usable and always empty, and you know it is.
