This is a really nice race car set. Hubby built a platform for it to set on and ordered some racing stools to set on. Hopefully our grandson will have many hours of enjoyment playing with PaPa! He took out the loops to make it easier as our grandson is only six.

This review is for the High Speed Showdown set. Bought this for my kids' sixth birthday. Was a bit worried that he might not have the patience for it, but he loves it. It takes a bit of practice to keep the cars on the track but that skill is what makes it fun and challenging, and once you get the hang of it it's a blast. Definitely suggest leaving the loops out initially and then add them back in later once you have a feel for speed control. The Good: Fairly sturdy - both track and cars Multiple possible track configurations Fairly easy learning curve Takes a bit of skill but not overly difficult The Bad: Track loses power in spots and pieces need to be reseated occasionally The contact brushes on the bottom of the cars are somewhat finicky The controllers are very light and feel cheap compared to the rest of the set

This set is pretty terrible. I understand cars are not meant to go full speed around the track but one car doesn't even stay on the track even for simple turns or the loops. After about one day if playing with it, none of the cars even work anymore. They just don't move. It's pretty bad how expensive this is for how cheap this set really feels. Stay away from this.

My ten yr old built this in a half hour. She and younger brother have a great time racing. This kit is old school- meaning that you must slow down in the turns. That is THE POINT for those who complain cars leave the track. Otherwise what's the point if you can't show a little skill, and know when to slow down or go all out? My kids figured this out with minimal coaching and love racing. Each section requires a little strategy: Attack the loops differently than flat turns, or angle centrifugal turns. The kit fits together tightly. The cars are gorgeous and detailed. I am happy I spent a little more for this kit vs cheap knockoffs half the price.

This was a Christmas gift for my kids....and maybe me :) Took me back to my childhood! lots of fun. Very fast and does require some skill to be able to keep the cars on the track. The kids loved the speed, the challenge, and obviously the epic crashes.

No English instructions, but snaps together easily following the illustration. Linking tabs on two stretches of track broken off out of the box, still used them. Cars cheap looking and unnattractive. Covered with too many graphics. All in all, just ok for the money. Bought it for grandsons, if it survived the first weekend with them, I'll come back and bump it up one star. (Took the loops out, because it's for a 3 and 5 yr old, and they couldn't handle them)

Value for money it’s the best track out there, in my opinion, now as far as track stability I would give it 4/5 stars. Durability would be also a 4/5 some smaller plastic pieces are just to easy to break.
