Moving into a new apartment with a kitchen island (finally), our mission was to find some affordable seating options for hosting guests. Our criteria was that it had to not break the bank, look good, be made of good quality materials and not take up too much space. This fit the bill perfectly! See breakdown below of our experience. Also note, before considering making this purchase, ensure these chairs will fit your kitchen island – our island stands at 34 inches. I would say this should be the minimum if you want to use these for seating – it’s just borderline comfortable – any shorter of an island, and you’ll start looking a certain character from Norte Dame.++Packaging: Great. Because these are compact and fit over one another, it came in a large, rectangle box. Easy to take out, and already assembled.++Quality: Superb. A solid wood top, unfinished, so if you wanted to stain it, go ahead. We prefer the unfinished texture on our buttocks actually so we’ll keep as is. Metal legs are strong, and we love the rubber footing to keep the chairs in place and to prevent scratches on the floor.++Design: Beautiful. We’re really digging the wood and rustic vibe, and this basically defined what we looked for. The black metal compliments our white island well as well. We’ve been getting lots of compliments and we only moved in a few days ago. Also, as we mentioned, these stack, so I’m already predicting these will be moving with us no matter where we go, and even if we don’t have an island, would be a breeze to store and take out if we needed additional seating space when hosting guests.++Price: At the time of this review, at $124 for four, that makes it $31 a chair. Similar items go closer to $40-$50 a chair, so this is priced well.All in all, really happy with this purchase, and no buyer’s remorse with the money spent.

We purchased these stools to augment the seating available in our kitchen and at the kitchen "bar" during parties (since everyone seems to congregate in the kitchen). We were looking for stools that were stackable, since their only use would be at parties, comfortable seat, attractive and inexpensive -- these fit the bill perfectly.We looked at the availability at local discount stores and the ones we saw were more expensive and did not have wood seats like these, they were all metal. These stools, for what you're buying, are very attractive.They are well built, sturdy but light enough to move around without strain. The packaging was excellent; protective and well thought out. The box had some shipping damage, nothing too severe, but the stools inside were untouched.Very pleased all around.

We already have four stools (with backs) for our peninsula in the kitchen, but I wanted to purchase a couple extra so that we could seat six comfortably, and these did the trick. I'm very happy with these stools, first they arrived already assembled and ready to sit on. They're the perfect height for my peninsula and we'll also be able to use them outside (won't leave them outside)...I'm glad that I purchased them, they're very sturdy and don't appear to be cheap. I'm overall really happy with these barstools. They are built well and sturdy. They are not super heavy to move and fit nice under the counter. The legs flare out just a bit to provide a more stable sit. The "wood" top is fake wood and looks it. I do wish it was a bit more realistic but I'm not going to complain to much for the price of all 4 chairs together. Best part was they came completely assembled, even the seats were already on! I can not say they are super comfortable to sit on but it's a barstool with a wooden seat.....what am I expecting. Overall great quality and I would buy them again.

Ordered the black base, wood section is a dark chocolate brown. Not loving the color but purchased because other reviews said you can sand and redo the color and the price for 4 is great. Also, stools are perfect size for counter height table.

These stools are exactly what I wanted. I was impressed that they showed up 5 days early! They are the perfect height for my counter. Love the stained wood seats. I sat I them and they were comfortable. Don't hesitate to buy them. I was glad I didn't have to put them together. and these stools are stackable too.

These stools look great, are so sturdy (I've had them for months now) and are well worth the price they are sold for. They have flat wood tops, so if you are planning to sit on them for hours on end, they are not exactly forgiving to those of us who are a bit older (no cushion--causes low back pain sometimes), but if you have kids they would be ideal.Note: the wood is stained, but unfinished, so if you are looking for a shiny, finished look, you'll have to DIY that.Very pleased with purchase.
