If you are not familiar with electronics - even at a general level - forget it. Buy one with a spec sheet and pinout! This worked great for the replacement of an older Woodpecker driver board I had go bad but no docs AT ALL. For a company with a store front and a decent web presence, how the heck can you NOT supply the least of the documentation. It is not available anywhere I can see on the net and I see others have also complained. Other than that - go for it. Works great!

This is a specialized controller board for the 3018 type of 3d mill. The fit and finish is excellent. It works out of the box, with added tweeks for end stops and the like. You do have to be aware that this is an unbuffered board made for running SMALL stepper motors and a stock 775 motor. As these motors are an inductive device, disconnecting the wires with power on can cause high voltage kick back which can destroy the board. Any short circuits, bad wiring and the like can easily do the same. The pwm output is aimed at laser cutters and not for larger motor controllers. The pwm output is 12V and can be set to 0 to 100% square wave output with grbl. Most cheap pwm motor drivers expect 5V output and won't work with these boards.

I used this to replace the board on my 3018 Pro CNC. It was virtually plug-and-play, with the only requirement was transferring over the previous settings (which are returned from an existing board by sending the '$$' command). The silkscreening on this one is correct also, whereas previous versions of the board mislabled the limit switch pins. But, since the drivers are soldered to the board, if one goes out, there is no easy way to just drop a new driver in. This does help with longevity of the drivers, since they can sink heat through the board and heatsinks, but if you make a mistake and fry a driver, the whole board is now e-waste. So, while I would say this is the best replacement board for a 3018, I would prefer one with replaceable drivers.

Worked for 2 days intermittently about 45 minutes each time. This is the second unit for the 3018Pro machine and it failed. Under powered capacity to do small carving jobs. each unit worked for a few days and then burned up. I am 4 days out of the 30 day return period so it is at my expense. Not sure what to do to replace it for this 3018 Pro machine. It needs a more

F-Yi GRBL CNC Engraving Machine Control Board,3 Axis Control Board,DIY Laser Engraving Machine Control Board was substituted for the board I ordered possibly because of availability. It performs all the functions of the board I ordered plus it provides pwm control for lasers which require a control signal of opposite polarity as provided by a vendor other than SainSmart. so it is more useful. A polarity reversing circuit would have to be added to the control board that was ordered for the laser i'm using. It was delivered in one day and very well packaged. The only installation difference is the board I received has slots rather than mounting holes and the mounting requires some adaptation.

Took more than expected to arrive, it was smaller than i though it was. But at the end works excellent with lightburn for a mini CNC router that was turned into a laser engraver. I replaced the controller that came with the machine, because it was for the parallel port, this one has USB and handles the nema 23 motors without problem
