Q: How does very cold intake water affect performance?

My input water temps change with the seasons, this water heater controls the amout of heat being produced at the burner, to maintain output water temp. at set levels. I set my water temp to 115F and regardles of input water temp. it stays at the set output.

Q: Will you please list EVERYTHING you will need to install this unit?

In addition to the Rinnai unit you will need a termination vent kit and a isolation valve kit. (The isolation valve kit is included with all models NOT beginning with "V".) MyPlumbingStuff

Q: Is this unit sufficient for Tennessee climate? I've read somewhere that it was for warmer climate areas (Florida/Texas)

Hi S. French. I live in New England which is mixed climates: Hot/Humid summers and in winter dry/colder climates. It's an indoor unit, which is in my basement, so I'm not sure how sensitive the climate is related to operation of the unit. If it were outside I would think it would be of more concern.

Q: Does this unit come with controller? rinnai tech said i needed a mc-91-2us controller? do i need to buy separate?

I bought model V65EN. It came with a wired digital controller. The installer did not run the wire into the house and mount the controller indoors. He simply set the controller at 120 degrees and left the controller inside the unit. If I want to change the temp, I have to take the cover of the unit.
