I brought this book twice. First time for me and second time for a good friend. It is the best and most comprehensive landscaping book I have ever read, that is I am an amateur gardener, not a professional landscaper. However, I have brought and read many many books about plants and garden design, so I feel like I can give a good overall review about this category of books. I learned a ton from this book and continually learning from it. Aside from that it teaches you a great value of landscaping knowledge and a set of garden design principles , it by itself is a beautiful coffee table book with amazing pictures and colors. Overall a great value!

My nephew is in college studying landscape architecture, so I gifted him this for his birthday. He loved it! Perfect gift!

Pros: beautiful photos, great ideas Cons: a bit overemphasis on environmentally friendly techniques; could use a bit more detailed text in some parts

Are you wanting to design a Japanese, modernist, Mediterranean or water garden? This book has these and all other gardens you would expect in a DIY book. It is filled with beautiful designs. This book is another must-have for you landscaping DIYers. It goes into detail about how to design gardens from different countries/culture, great photos and ideas and tons of information you won't see in other books. This book is from UK designers, and gives an English view of design, but It has really great ideas, and is a great reference for U.S. gardens.

So helpful in planning your garden space. The pricing is good and the description is spot on. A must for all gardeners.
