This is exactly what I needed. Being a legacy entertainment tech buff, I wanted a 5 disk dvd/cd changer, which I found in perfect condition at a Goodwill for $12. However, modern flatscreen TVs no longer have component RCA inputs. This essentially adds them to your TV. You just need a component cable and an HDMI cable. This very small, discrete box was easily installed and had me up and running in 5 minutes, out of the box. DO NOT waste time or money buying HDMI to component cables. They will NOT work. They are for output FROM HDMI TO component only, not the other way around and will not convert analog signal to digital, which is what you will need. Buy this and you should be happy. Also keep in mind that if your old device does not have progressive scanning, this may not work; there will be no picture, only sound. Hopefully, it can do both interlaced and progressive and there is a tiny switch on the back of your player that can change it from one to another. (You sometimes need a pen to get in to a tiny hole to flip it.) If you have no picture at first when installing this converter, look for such a switch or setting and try changing it.

I used this to convert my Wii’s RCA connector to HDMI and it works great. Sound is fine and video looks fine as well, albeit a bit pixelated, but not the converter’s fault. You might want to get a longer mini usb if you plan to power it from the wall though, as the included cable is quite short.

Good item. Works as described. It does not alter the picture quality but does offer enhanced connectivity for newer tvs.

The converter works exactly as it’s supposed to and was easy to set up. It is priced very well. It successfully connects my GameCube to an HDMI TV with no issues. That said, the picture quality is noticeably blurry and a bit soft, especially on larger screens. It’s usable and fine if you just want it to function, but don’t expect crisp or sharp visuals. Good for basic use, not great if image quality matters to you.

This converter was simple to set up and works great. As it says, it is for older RCA (red, white, yellow) outputs to newer HDMI input on your tv. I connected my old Samsung DVD player to my new Hisense tv. Set the video switch to 1080.

It gets 3/5 since I cant do 2.5/5. The video works. The audio does not work. I swapped this out for one that was from best buy. So this leads me to believe that this unit was defective. This product: Yes it was easy to install. It did not work well because the audio did not work.

We bought a roku tv and needed this little box to connect our DVD player. Works slick. One caution...make sure you have all the other connectors you need. We did, fortunately. Very quick ship.

Just need to say it works as intended. I hooked up a WII game console with RCA plugs to HDMI input on TV using this converter and everything plays just fine. I then hooked up an old DVD / VCR player (no HDMI output) and it also worked. I highly recommend for connecting old RCA plug equipment to newer TV’s with no RCA inputs.
