I returned the 8 (gift) and got the 9 and that worked.

Length was correct but it pressed on the toes from the top but not the length. So I had to return it and go up a size higher than what I normally wear to give more room so it wasn't pressing down on my toes. I don't have big feet. They had size 8 and 9, but not 8.5. I returned the 8 (gift) and got the 9 and that worked.
