This boom is relatively compact and easy to transport. By moving the bracket so it is half way down the main rod and angling the boom at 45 degrees I can get it to hold a Speedlight in an 80cm softbox without any issues. I also like the fact I can screw in my other counterweight into the 1/4" thread which allows me to use an Elinchrom RX4 head.

Better than another boom I have. I'd like to be able to buy additional screw-in weights but can't find out how to do that?

Its a good stand, i bought this to use at home and its fine. Just dont expect too much. It can just hold a canon speedlite with a 55cm beauty dish, and thats with a sandbag on the end and the provided weight. I mainly use it for low level work so its fine for the price.
