I had somehow lost my original Nintendo mains charger, i think my daughter borrowed it and never gave it back! I love playing on my 3DS XL so decided to order this as i was unable to buy the original, i'm not sure they make them anymore? To be honest i wasn't sure if it would work but it does the job. The cable is a good length and i am happy with my purchase.

I thought my ds was broken but this solved it
My brother sent me his old ds with the charger but since it did not work I asusmed it maybe just stopped working after so many years. Turns out the charger was faulty.
