when i moved out of my parents house, I had to get a vacuum and growing up I was used to the central vacuum system so this was very new to me. I needed to make sure that whatever I was getting can deal with pet hair and carpet. This really fits the bill. A couple of things I do not like about this vacuum: 1. the hose is too short. whenever I put on an attachment to get into those hard-to-reach places, the hose is too short and I end up yanking it. 2. the machine tends to be heavy over time, esp when I'm holding the machine while trying to vacuum corners of a ceiling or a bookcase, for example. 3. there's no attachment for precision cleaning--you have to buy this separately on their website and if you live outside of USA, then there's an international surcharge. overall, highly durable... it is extremely important to keep the vacuum clean and clear of debris in case anything gets stuck in the roller.. it says self-cleaning but if you have long-haired pets and humans, then something will bound to get stuck and clogged.

This Rating Is For The “Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum with DuoClean & Self-Cleaning Brushroll, Crevice Tool, Upholstery Tool & Pet Power Brush, for a Deep Clean on & Above Floors, Espresso”. This is our first Shark vacuum cleaner. Compared to all the previous vacuums we have owned and used, this one really has awesome suction. It did extremely well on our hardwood floors and our inside carpet. It was not quite as good on our outside carpet in our mudroom entrance. However, having said that, this Shark did better than anything else here too. Also, once the dirt is in this vacuum it does not leave it until you dump the dust cup. We like the no bags, cleanable foam filter and easy to replace HEPA filter. (We had no problems finding these items and purchasing them at Amazon. Now if it ever becomes necessary to change one and/or both of these filters, we will be able to do a quick change and keep right on cleaning). We also like the LED lights shining where one is vacuuming. This is especially true under furniture or dark locations. It takes some getting use to having a vacuum that comes apart to do different types of cleaning jobs. This is both nice and awkward at the same time. It is great for getting under furniture such as sofas or beds, but becomes quite a workout when cleaning a stairwell. One has to hold the canister in one hand and the cleaning wand in the other. This vacuum’s design prevents having a long hose for this task. We need to ask if Shark has an optional longer attachable hose for this type of cleaning job. We have had this Shark AZ1002 Apex vacuum for about a month (as of this writing) and so far so good. We are considering purchasing a second one so we can have one on each floor. This Shark vacuum is expensive for us, but seems to be worth it. It is nice to be able to make two passes over a spot and move on to the next one, knowing you have picked more dirt than anything else would have done. This is a very good high quality product when all is said and done. Our last comment: Nobody here is affiliated with Shark or even Amazon for that matter. These positive comments posted here are how we see it and have been posted accordingly.

For the past fifteen or more years I have used a Bissell Pet something or other vacuum. I have replaced it three times and each time I always thought about going with a different brand, but just decided to keep going forward with the Bissell. I use our vacuum a lot. Sometimes three times per day. I have severe allergies and we have two huge dogs and we dog sit. I vacuum constantly. Last month our last Bissell started to lose suction. The hand tools had long ago stopped working and I knew I was going to need to start shopping for a new vacuum soon, I was just procrastinating because I hate vacuum shopping. Everyone thinks their brand is the best. My parents have both a Miele and a Shark. My brother has a Hoover. The Internet has Dyson. Ugh. I spent hours and hours watching videos and reading reviews and I finally settled on this Shark Apex because Bob Villa said it was probably the best bet. A lot of other people also said it was a solid choice, but I like Bob and I trust him. Shark has so many different models and features that it was confusing as heck deciding which vacuum I needed. For those of you wondering, our house is mostly hardwood and tile with a few rugs. This vacuum has a switch for hardwood, short carpet and shag carpet. The brushes move on all three settings. We paid the extra money to get the hand tools because we have dog beds that need daily attention. First off, I love this stupid vacuum. I had no idea how poorly my Bissell was actually working until I swept my house with the Shark. I was disgusted and amazed all at once. The swivel head was super annoying and I just finally am getting adjusted to it after a full week of daily use. If you only vacuum once per week, give the swivel some time, you will grow to like it. The suction on this vacuum is crazy. If our Aussie's fluffy rugs would fit in the canister I would have sucked them up at least ten times over now. The hand wand - not the long wand, but the short tool that comes off the top of the handle - is the best vacuum shortcut I've ever used. Most vacuums you need to take the hose out from the side, while this one has a button and it just comes from the top. It is so easy. If you need a taller wand, simply disconnect from further down. As we paid extra for the tools, I can connect the upholstery tool to easily vacuum the dogs' beds and rugs. It's a snap. Everything comes apart and goes back together so easily. Our last vacuum did not have lights and my husband always complained about this and I never understood why. Now I understand why. Having lights on this vacuum is amazing. I can see when I'm trying to get all the little crevices of our senior girl's bed clean or when I'm trying to clean behind the fridge. Having a light on the front of the main vacuum illuminates any white dog hairs on our wood floors, so I don't miss anything. I seriously love it. I hesitated on a Shark vacuum for years because I was skeptical of the brand. If this vacuum holds up I will be a convert. As of now, I love this vacuum.

Muy buena pero relación calidad precio un poco cara. La versión shark normal (no apex) hace casi lo mismo
