YAXI EARPADS for Koss PORTAPRO 2Pairs (2P-PU+OG)

This is at least my 3rd or 4th set of these. Not because they wear out fast, they don't, but because theyre just that good. The Yaxi Pad + Porta Pro combo is genuinely unbeatable for comfort, sound, and price. These things stay right at my desk next to my Sennheiser HD6XXs - thats the playing field they're punching up to, at 1/5th the price. If you have porta pros and you dont have these, you're missing out on a wealth of comfort and sound both. If you have neither and ended up here because you read about that combo elsewhere, let me just confirm that yes, it is as good as the audiophiles say it is.

Comfort is amazing, as-well as improved sound quality

Well, after using several after market ear pads this is the most stylish, the quality sound and confort is really impressive! Fantastic!

I used these for a pair of KSC75s with a headband mod and the comfort and sound is an improvement. They come with two stickers, who doesn’t love some free stickers. These are priced great and they fit great .

These really make the PORTAPROs, like, a bajillion times more comfortable. Amazon is prompting me to speak to the following keywords, so I'll just go for it. whatever. SEO. AEO. FML. Quality - pretty good? It's foam so they do degrade/flatten over time, but like. just as you have to buy new underwear sometimes, you sometimes need to replace your earpads ease of use - i mean, you put em on once. It's 'easy to install' them -- just a little fiddling and you're set for a few months size - these are thicker and wider than the pads that come with your portapros. it makes folding the 'pros up entirely a little awkward, but its possible if you're okay with squishing the pads a bit. sound quality - im not an audiophile so I haven't noticed a difference, but I imagine they marginally improve the Outside Noise Quieting or whatever. idk. but shya, these are great! they won't last forever and WILL need to be replaced, but it's cool. that's life.

I wouldnt call myself an audiophile, YET. The only thing holding me back from being one is being able to spend ungodly amounts of money on audio related stuff. But what I can tell you is I have very good ears and am also a music and audio enthusiast. My ears are very sensitive, I can pick up a lot of frequencies on the high end. I often tell my friends to lower their maxed out treble (they don’t know any better and think maxing out equalizers is a good idea) in their cars because its way too sharp on my ears. Now for these pads, I have used them on both the PortaPro drivers and KSC75 drivers. On the KSC75 drivers, they make the sound about 10-15% worse. They cause the upper-mids to sound disgusting, I can’t explain it well besides that. Its not a huge difference by any means, but it makes the sound muddy but a sharper muddy that drowns out the other sound. It removes A LOT of the soundstage, the KSC75s didn't really have too much in the first place. This makes it sound like all the sound is a jumbled muddy high piercing mess. Now for the PortaPro drivers, there is a much smaller difference than the KSC75s. The difference it causes is that with the Yaxi Pads it kills the volume of the high end frequencies, and also just lowers the volume overall. It also does make the soundstage worse. It sounds like some frequencies are just “missing.” In terms of comfort, Its about a 15% increase in comfort due to the surface area. The thickness of it compared to the normal pads are that the Yaxi’s are more thick. They are not more stiffer or squishier, it just SEEMS like its a bit stiffer that way because it has more thickness. Overall, the stuff of people saying it makes the quality of the sound that much better are just people who bought into the marketing and monopoly the Yaxi Pads have over the Koss’s. Its as simple as that. Its not a miracle product that enhances the sound quality. All pads can do is just block or allow some frequencies to pass through. If your ears hurt from the pads, go ahead and get them. If they dont, dont waste your money thinking these will make it sound better. Only a high quality equalizer (or better drivers) will do that for you. The way I tested the differences were setting my audio to mono and replacing the pads on one ear and keeping the old one on the other. And yes, I tested each side on both ears.

More comfortable, more durable, cool colors. Win win win.

Very niche product but they increase comfort and enhance the bass just a little. If you love your Loss Porta Pro I can't recommend these highly enough. Be stylish a pick a bright colour; mine are purple 💜

This is a must have for any one who uses their portapro more than ten minutes at the time. Finally my headphones are comfortable enough to wear without me having to be annoyed.

They are pretty good, i only bought because my og foam pads were breaking apart. I honestly can’t tell the difference much tho so imo not worth spending $20 for two pieces of foam. Ymmv. P.S. I want red/blue color option which was not available (at time of my purchase, Spring 2025).
