All around great! The taste can be adjusted :)
I agree with what a few reviewers have said about the less-than-ideal taste, but I don't care--I can adjust for that with allulose or another sweetener and/or cinnamon and/or cocoa powder. This is a delightfully pure protein source--great overall macronutrient balance. I wondered if the amount of fiber, coming from a powdered legume source, would give me trouble. None at all, it turns out. To adjust consistency and add some dairy protein, I've been mixing it in a 22 oz. Sistema cup, with either greek yogurt or cottage cheese, using a manual hand-crank egg beater. Quick, works like a charm. All in all, this really simplifies an important part of my diet. Eaten with some raw or lightly steamed veggies, it makes for an efficient, nutritious meal. Highly recommended!

Powder Taste
Despite the marketing description, this chocho powder has a strange taste. I mixed it into my morning Greek yogurt, oatmeal, and fruit cocktail.

Great Ingredients, Difficult Flavor
I really wanted to like this product. The ingredient list is clean and the idea of a single-source, plant-based protein was appealing. Unfortunately, the hydrolyzation process noticeably changes both the flavor and the digestion profile. The taste comes through with a strong, almost metallic or bitter edge that’s hard to hide, even in smoothies, and the texture isn’t as smooth as expected. It did serve its purpose as a temporary protein source when I needed something pure, but it’s not one I’d reorder. For anyone who’s extremely ingredient-sensitive it might still be worth a try, but be prepared for the flavor.

Smelled like chemicals. I was afraid to use it.
smells like chemicals. I was afraid to even use it. I tried to return & Amazon said, "not returnable." Working on getting a refund.

Single Ingredient
This is not specifically a protein powder, but more of an MRP based on the macros. One ingredient for nutritional powders like this is great to really know what you're eating. Most protein powders, MRPs, etc. have unnatural sweeteners or flavors. I don't worry too much about using those products sometimes, but I do gravitate toward natural options like this. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I was for 17 years. I've tried a lot of plant-based protein powders. The texture of this is typical of them-thick and a little grainy. Not saying that's bad, it just is what it is with plant proteins. The flavor has the same kind of nutty undertone as other plant powders, but it's got a unique sharpness to it on it's own. For most folks, probably best blended with juice or in a shake. If you're more inclined to eat based on nutrition over flavor once in awhile, you will probably tolerate the taste just fine in water. I also like to diversify my protein choices. This is a new one to me and worth a try for anyone looking for something new. The price is pretty high on a per-macro calorie basis. I'm sure that's because it is a somewhat exotic product, but still worth a try if it fits your budget.

Yum!
As we age, we need more protein. One scoop of chocho has more protein than 4 ounces of chicken. I use my Blend Jet and coconut water. I use other powders for flavor. Strawberry powder with a few fresh strawberries. I'm also very fond of Chocho lattes. Chocho, coconut water, half a banana, or Thai coconut milk, a tablespoon of Cafe Bustelo instant coffee and a splash of vanilla.

Unique protein powder, but not flavor free
This is the first chocho protein powder I've seen or tried. When I first saw it, I thought chocho was some cute shorthand for chocolate (it's not). The story behind is pretty amazing if you read the back of the bag. It's a legume that been grown an eaten in the Andes for hundreds of years and I love how the product supports Ecuadorian indigenous families. The powder looks like any other protein powder except for its outstanding yellow color. The color is similar to that of nutritional yeast, which I found made it fun to use in vegan cheese recipes. Add some of the powder to a sauce and it makes it look like the sauce is made with cheese. Perfect for vegan mac n' cheese! I think it would be a great way to get non-vegans to try dairy free foods or just to add some color to dishes. While I enjoyed using this powder, it's not flavor free. I tried mixing the chocho powder with water as suggested and ended up with a drink that tasted off. Bitter is the best word I can think of to describe it. The flavor can be used to your advantage when cooking certain things, because it can add depth to a dish. However, I didn't like to use a lot of it at once or it overwhelmed other flavors instead of complimenting them. I don't think the flavor of the protein powder is inherently a bad thing. The reason why I rated it 3 stars is because it's advertised as being flavor free. It's free of added flavors, which is great! But the powder itself is not without flavor. I enjoyed using the chocho powder, but I think the messaging around it could be more accurate.
