I don’t know what it is but this did not play well with my skin. I have sensitive combination skin but I usually don’t have this reaction with other Vitamin C products I have used. The consistency seemed fine and I feel like it would have absorbed well into my skin if my skin tolerated it. All in all I feel like it might be a good product if you don’t have skin that is super sensitive like mine but personally it is going to be a pass for me.

This product contains Phenoxyethanol, this component can trigger allergic reactions, especially in leave-on products. I would continue to use if it didn't have this ingredient or if it was more clear the concentration % percentage it has to know if its safe to use without risking irritation and allergic reactions. As far as application, it leaves skin feeling nice and hydrated. It absorbs into the skin fairly easily and its not super sticky. A decent product for the cost but I'd probably look elsewhere if you have sensitive skin.
