Dorfromantik - Board Game US Edition Spiele des Jahres 2023 Winner

I struggle to get my family to play board games with me. Most board games either take a long time to explain, get competitive, or take too long. Dorfromatik is really the board game for people who want to just sit around a table and make simple decisions. It's light-hearted tile-laying with a campaign reward system that progressively rewards you as you play better, but rewards you even if you don't do so well. Every game is different. Some are more fun than others, but being able to quickly explain the rules (less than 10 minutes even after you unlock new components) makes it very refreshing to play. If you're a board gamer struggling to bring non-board game members (like family) into the picture, consider this game. Explain time is less than 10 minutes, play time is less than an hour, and a progressive system makes it highly replayable.

Fun campaign-oriented game, introducing new opportunities for points and thus strategy-changers as your team progresses! One of the few cooperative games that have really resonated with me. I believe that the instructions could be clearer, which is likely due to translation issues, but videos often clarify these discrepancies.

My family has had a blast with this one! The graphics are simple and effective but super charming. The play itself is simple and easy to learn but it ads complexity as you make your way through campaigns. Highly recommend for beginner strategy gamers or gamers looking to play more collaborative style games.

As a rule I do not play cooperative games - they usually are either too reliant on luck, too easy or simply to much work. This game though feels more like a relaxing, low-stakes version of Carcassonne. In fact, I think I prefer this over that game! It seems complicated at first, but once you get started it very quickly becomes obvious what the flow of the game will be. Recording the score from each game helps your team track progress and unlocks new features (new ways to score, new tiles) and keeps the game interesting. Highly recommend for those less experienced with board games or with kids.

Me and my girlfriend love the game. It's very nice it's cooperative since we don't compete, the game is really aesthetic, and the campaign is really great since it gives us additional motivation to keep playing

This game is the best! It's relaxing, easy to learn, and super addicting. We must have played it at least ten times on the day we opened the box. It's hard to resist wanting to play game after game to continue unlocking new achievements and beating your high score. Never thought I'd be a fan of tile laying games but here we are, and here is great!

Such a fun game to play with your partner. We obsessed over it for months. The game is always different and fun to apply different strategies.

Lovely co-operative game for most ages. Nice progression and increasing complexity while playing. Quick setup and easy to put away too.
