Very helpful
This book was highly recommended on multiple reddits and YouTube comments. It is very helpful-I passed my CCS exam this morning! It will help you even if you don't have any medical or coding knowledge. The size is intimidating but to be honest I didn't read it all. I went through the ICD-10 chapter chapters (redundant but it will make sense when you see the table of contents lol), the CPT, the CPT modifier, and the inpatient coding chapters in depth. The rest of the chapters are more body system or procedure specific (like anesthesia, surgery, etc) and the general ICD-10 and individual ICD-10 chapter rules apply to them for the most part, so I skipped them in the book. I will say that I purchased the accompanying workbook and it was semi-helpful but if you're looking to save money, I would skip it because this book has practice questions at the end of every chapter. I would definitely buy the CCS Mometrix book though if you're going to take the CCS.

Such a wonderful book!
This book is well written, easy to understand and get all the main ideas to learn Medical Coding. It provides activities to practice use of ICD-10 and CPT book and references HCPCS as well. The book contains a glossary and answers to some of the activities. The theory and practical exercise answers are provided by the instructor. The information in this book goes well with the Step-by-Step workbook, which provides extra exercises.

RE: Bucks STEP by Step Coding
I got this book as a gift for a loved one. Saw the 2023 version presented by the host of You Tube Channel: Contempo Coding. When I saw the 2024 edition available, I purchased it. Just like the host of Contempo Coding (right on the money) states, the book is easy to understand, detailed on the rationales and engages the reader on the understanding of the concepts of Medical Coding and indirectly with Medical Billing. Bucks Step by Step book is a solid and invaluable investment for a Medical Coder or someone who is seriously considering pursuing this career path. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great book to help you learn all the ins and outs of how to code properly and efficiently. Needed this for my medical coding certificate program.

Will only have access to half of all difficult answers
I bought the printed 2024 step-by-step book (and companion workbook) through this site and it is well written and fairly easy to follow and understand, but be warned that if you are studying independently, without an instructor, you will have access to the answers in the back for all questions *except* the very important Practical and Theory sections at the end of each chapter. These sections are extremely useful/necessary for checking your understanding of the material, so you will not know what you don't know. The answers to the simple Glossary and Learning Objectives are listed, but these sections are not nearly as useful as the other two. The answers for all of the questions in the learning sections of each chapter are listed, but again, it is very unfortunate to not have access to the Practical and Theory sections.I do have a digital version of the 2023 book as well (not purchased through this site) and the answers to the Practical and Theory sections are also not listed there. The review listed above by Victoria (of Contempo Coding) states that all of the answers are available on her digital version, but I believe that she is a certified instructor, so she has likely has a different version than most of us.I contacted Elsevier/Evolve to inquire about obtaining access to these Teacher's Edition Only answers and was told it was not possible without an instructor. Also, be aware that the additional companion workbook for this book contains only the answers for the odd numbered questions.
