Q: What are the pens dimensions, full size and compacted?

Full size = 5-1/4" Compacted = 3-7/8"

Q: Is this basically the EXPANDZ pen? Mine broke and I'm looking for a replacement.

This is a 2 piece pen where the expanz is one piece. The 301 compact is great, you remove the ink containing piece, flip it around and put in cap piece. I like the expanz too, but it seemed that the spring in the expanz would wear out allowing for the pen ip to be exposed in my pocket which would ink my pockets up. The 301 compact solves this problem by flipping the ink source completely around.

Q: Does the cap snap onto the body when using the pen in writing mode? Mine doesn't. It only snaps onto the body in travel/storage mode. It's annoying.

I have no trouble with the cap in writing position. It is held on by modest friction between the cap and the rubber gasket on the pen body and does not "snap into place". The pen has a fine point, writes well, and lasts a long time. The only problem is that there is no loop on the cap to attach to the pocket knife and flashlight that I keep in the same pocket so eventually the pen wiggles its way out and gets lost. I order two of the "two packs" so I always have extras when one is lost. I have used other pocket pens which don't write as well and run our of ink faster then the average time between lost pens.

Q: Does zebra make a matching pencil?

No, we do not have a Steel Compact Pencil; however we would like to recommend the M-301 Mechanical Pencil.
