My family is very pleased with this selection of Japanese treats. Nice bits of random fish, eel, beer candy, Hello Kitty, Doraemon, octopus, mochi, rolled cakes etc. Shipping was slow,/late but that is no fault of the sender as we are in the middle of a pandemic. I appreciate the sender doing this at a reasonable price without the money going to fancy packaging. Sender was responsive to questions and obviously took the time to pick things that were interesting and different, so it was not a bunch of the same items. I lived in Japan for five years, and I'm happy to have these little reminders of what it was like to visit my local 99 yen store.

You get a trial size of 20 pieces, some are quite small keep in mind. Japanese are not sickly sweet and very light, like most of their food. My problem is that I could easily eat about 100 of these. There's are a few packs of dried fish jerky which is typical of Japanese/Asian snacks, some airy rolled biscuits, a couple packs of light crisps, and other gummies. As I said everything is very light, and you'll just pop one in your mouth and keep wanting to try more. This makes a fantastic gift for someone who's into Japanese culture, and experience what it's like to be a kid in a Tokyo sweets shop!

Despite being a fan of Japanese culture I can't read the language, therefore a list describing what each item was would have been such a boon. As it was I enjoyed everything in the box which was a nice mixture of sweet and savory, with most of the latter being either fish, seafood or meat based so not suggested for vegetarians. Sweets were a variety of mostly fruit flavors, the savories included octopus, pork, prawn and others I couldn't identify but were very tasty. I didn't receive any small toys and luckily didn't encounter anything I am allergic to. I could have done of course, which is why despite being contented with the sturdy packaging (a plain stiff card box) and condition of the items as well as the very varied mixture I might be a bit wary a second time. Recommended for anybody who can read Japanese and eats a good range of different types of meat and fish. Honestly, just put that list in and I will buy another box...

I was excited to try this Trial Japanese Small Candy Dagashi Set, and while it had some fun and nostalgic treats, it didn’t fully meet my expectations. The variety was decent, but a few of the candies tasted a bit too artificial or overly sweet for my liking. The packaging was cute and authentic, which I appreciated. If you’re curious about Japanese snacks and want a quick sampling, this set is okay, but don’t expect anything gourmet or outstanding. Overall, it’s an average snack box - not bad, but not great either.

Ordered this to share with a friend who loves Japanese culture and we had a great time trying to figure out what everything was. Even the things that we didn't enjoy so much were still worth the experience to try (for example some squid snack things that tasted like fishy cardboard). Some of the items were genuinely delicious, like the corn snacks one of which was Apple pie flavoured (judging by the taste and the picture of a little cartoon Apple popping out of a pie on it). It was definitly worth the money I spent on it for the hour of fun and the hilarious banter.

I bought this a while ago but this Japanese snack box is soo good I would recommend for anyone who wants to try something new this would also be a really good present for all ages

Ordered these as a bit of fun to try and we weren't disappointed. There were some amazing stuff in the box but equally some vile concoctions. I'm fairly certain that Japanese people eat sweet flavoured scabs and fish flavoured crisps. So weird. This was well worth the money to make my other half try everything (ordered 2 boxes).

It was fun testing my Hiragana and Katakana on the packages, as-well as have a small example of Japanese culture through it's snacks. Price was a bit much but worth it for the variety I was given. Highly recommend if you have spare cash you wanna spend.

Ma fille aime trop les produits du japon, et chaque année pour noël je lui en commande. Super produit, avec des gout différents qu'on ne retrouve pas en France. A faire découvrir a toute personne. d'autre aimerons, et d'autre non. Nous en tous cas on adore!!! Box découverte sympa et prix correct, car ce n'est pas la porte à coté. (Le prix du billet d'avion est plus cher) ;-) Vendeur sérieux et livraison respecter! Merci au vendeur de nous faire profiter des saveurs du japon.

Het duurde wel voordat het er was maar het was het wachten waard. Bij navraag bij de leverancier, waren ze erg aardig en behulpzaam. Leuke producten om uit te proberen met de hele familie. Wij zullen vast hier nog een keer bestellen.

I finally got my dagashi box and I'm so happy that it finally came but it showed up early before Christmas. Mines had arrived on 12/15, good condition,well packaged,not busted or bented and with all 20 pieces of the snacks. It's small pieces of candy and some savory snacks. Haven't tried all of them just a few but the one I hated the most was wasabinori it has a boc choy in front of it and it is so putrid. I hate the wasabi flavor,but, I loved the fried squid snack and a chocolate wafer I forgot the name of the snack but it has the cat in front of it. Another thing that I don't like is that they don't give you a sheet of paper to let you know what kind of snack, the name of the snacks, & no translation. Cause some of them are good & I would like to purchase them separately,but, I love it. It's so cute, has the 20 pieces that it promised, would be good as a present for someone who is a fan of Japanese snacks or just snacks in general. I love it and I will buy from akiba king.
