At all four stages (Raw, Wet blue, Crust, and Finished) of tanning, each piece of leather is checked for quality. Buffalo calf leathers have very special natural grains & two tone transparencies. Buffalo full grains, being totally natural reveals the depth and character of leather. Review: Superior Quality - Everything about this briefcase emanates quality. The Brass hardware works well with the beautiful black Leather. I did meet one of the principals of this company at a conference about a year ago. Review: Great bag, with caveats. - First off, the brass rivers holding the top strap on had chrome plating flaking off in the box. Materials seem to be good quality and fully stitched, not glued, but the leather was thinner than expected, and organizer pouches in the front pocket are pretty useless. Had a really strong plastic odor out of the box. Appearance is excellent and fittings seem to be high quality. The latch/lock has nice engagement and does not feel flimsy. If you plan to carry more than papers and a thin laptop, I’d look elsewhere - this bag is not huge volume. Big enough to cram things into, but it’s not really comfortable with my dell G3 plus accessories. Overall a pretty solid bag, great value for price. Time will tell how it will wear. I’m happy with my purchase. This would be 5 star, except for the flaking rivets, strange and strong odor, and rather thin leather.
