When it works - it's awesome, but it's very inconsistent
Our cats like to jump up and try and open the kitchen door from about 5am, it's locked, but they spend a go hour thumping against it trying to open it, it's very annoying. I've bought 2 of these - both have stopped working and resisted buying another as they are so expensive. But the cats drove me to it, and I had one blissful night where they gave up after a few squirts of air. But the device works really inconsistently with no real pattern desite having brand new batteries and can of air that costs more than gold. So frustrating, they are very poor quality for the money. Trying to get it replaced seems to be protracted as the seller has redirected me to PetSafe, so I can see it taking a while. Very disappointing quality for such an expensive gadget. But it yours works - it's well worth it! Edit: still waiting for a replacement from the manufacturer - looking at the identical review above - this must be known problem.

Expensive but works
The product is expensive but works. The sensor is a little sensitive and keeps going off even though it states a fixed timer between sprays. I purchased the item to stop 8 month old kitten from jumping on shelves and waking us a 3am every morning scratching at the bedroom door. First night started with it on the shelves before bed at mad 9pm half hour time and the first time it went off she flew away very quickly, came back for another go and decided against it. Went to bed and placed it in a cup to stop if getting knocked over outside the bedroom door, it went off a few times that night but no cat scratching the hell out of the new carpet to get in. Done the same the next day for shelves and bedroom it went off less times. Third night don't even need to switch it on outside the bedroom door it just sits there and she will not go near it. "Yes it works". the other thing i have found is cats do not like the smell of citronella we have a petsafe bark collar that uses this all i need to do is put the refill can on the shelves with lid off and she will not go near it and we then move the can upstairs by the bedroom door. Maybe the Citronella would have worked without buying the ssscat i will never know? but good to know its there if i need to turn it on again.

A lot of money for something that didn't work well.
We purchased this after reading the numerous positive reviews. The few reviews that were less positive were considered but overall we were encouraged by the good feedback. Sadly, this product has not been as successful for us. It worked for the first two nights but then it just seemed to stop. The cats have to be almost on top of it before they are sensed. It does pick up human activity but the spray does not always go off: we've replaced the batteries twice this week to see if that helps but the cats are getting passed it and the door scratching in the early hours continues. For the price, I am disappointed that it doesn't work as well as we had hoped. We will not be buying this again.

Work brilliantly
It took me few weeks to decide if I really need this worrying that it’s gonna be wasted money. But no, Absolutely does what it was made for cause cats are really cheeky and jumping where they are not allowed as soon as I leave the room. It literally took 3 days and done! FAB-U-LOUS. Cats have to hate the can and not me! It come with some caveats. One, this is really expensive, £80 for can of compressed air that normally cost £5. The sensor is not worth £70. Motion sensors literally cost $2 in China. It miss sometimes, but rarely. Two, the can it not the biggest too, says it last for around 100 sprays, which would be even fine if not point number… Three, there is, apparently, 30 second delay after turning the sensor on till it actually starts to work to not spray you while you still in front of it. That’s all great, but every time after I turn it on, 30 second pass and PSSSS the spray goes on. Not once, but twice! WITH EVERY START! And just this eats to how long the can last very, very much. As I said, after three days the cats learn to not just on the kitchen top, next 3 days to keep them away from flowers, but after that just keeping the can on every days for next 3 weeks used it all, just from turning it on. No need for that, for me it looks like the manufacturer did it intentionally just to force you to buy extra refills over and over. Which is also not cheat (£25). Very not cool. Tip, don’t leave the can in one spot, cats will learn that THIS THING in ugh and will start to walk past it. Always move it to different spot, to spray them from different directions. Or cover it , put behind something (just the can, not the sensor) Overall, it works, cats hate it. You will love it.

Not happy with motion detector, doesn’t always work
It does work but the motion detector does always trigger, or goes late. For the price paid is disappointing as we can’t really be sure that is gonna have the expected effect.

Costly and do not work
I bought two of these and both were defective. They wouldn't detect anything and support desk couldn't work out why. I had the old version of these and they worked perfectly, they should have left well alone, these ones are completely unreliable and for the cost are not worth the risk.

Sometimes I ignore reviews and like to see for myself if something is more effective than others give it credit for. I should've paid heed to the reviews. Cat got on the bench within 30cm of the unit and then popped itself into a relaxed loaf position right in front of it. Power was on, sensitivity on the high setting. Room temp around 20°C. The IR sensors in these are not adequate for the task. Needs to go back to the design team and up the sensitivity. It struggled to even sense my presence at 30-40cm. Until a revised version is announced, don't waste your money on these.

I turn is of after a week but leave the can so the cat thinks it will get sprayed.
