Not a paid review! Buy it...it is legit!
This device worked wonders with me! Ive been battling cervicogenic dizziness for 4 years. I was going to buy the Saunders unit but opted to give this one a,try. Works great. Im not kidding...eliminated my muscle pain which clearly was due to pinched nerve in neck. This unit does wonders unpinching. May not work for everyone but in my case, life changer

Just what I was looking for.
I've used it twice and it seems to do the job. Definitely feel the stretch. I have to get used to the pressure on my occipital bones with this but it stretches without messing up my TMJ which is a good thing. Neck felt better after using. I'll have to do it everyday for a month or so to get a longer lasting benefit. I like that it works very similarly to the ones in the PT's office.

The Pros & Cons
I'm 64 years old, I have Cervical Spondolysis which causes my left hand to go numb. The numbness is so bad that it wakes me up 2-3 times night. At times my arm would get BURNING HOT at night and wake me. It got to a point where I was apprehensive about going to sleep knowing that within a few hours I'd awaken with searing pain down my arm. I purchased this item on recommendation of a physical therapist. Initially I used it twice a day. 15 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night. Now only 30 minutes at night. From day one the burning pain disappeared! Over the first 3 days the night time numbness decreased each night, then it went away. I've now had it almost 3 weeks and the daytime numbness in my hand has improved 50-75%. Overall I'm very satisfied with the results. The unit is expensive, but the relief it provides has been well worth it. The unit is very easy to setup. Watch the brief video on the Amazon ad page and you won't even need to read the instructions. The only drawback ... After about a week it started loosing tension. I'd pump it up to the desired setting, sometimes it stays, at other times it slowly deflates. Once in a while it deflates immediately. It's no big deal to reinflate but at a price point of nearly $400 I expect better quality. Thats the only reason I gave it 4 stars vs 5. Even with that issue I give this this item a strong buy recommendation. It has helped me tremendously! ADDENDUM: This product has worked miraculously for me. It's been about a month since I submitted this review and the progress I've made since has been phenomenal. I have virtually ZERO pain, numbness & tingling in my left arm and hand. I now only use this device for 15 minutes once or twice weekly.

Well worth the money
This is a great product! I'll compare this cervical stretcher to the one used at my physical therapists office. I have two bulging disc's as a result of a car accident. At physical therapy, I lay face-up on the table and the automatic traction device stretched my neck for a period of 15 minutes. One session yielded positive results for two months. However, the pain returned. And I could feel my neck re-compressing. So, I found this unit on amazon. After hesitating over the price and the mixed reviews, I decided to take the leap. This product is made with high-quality silicone, and adjustable head strap, similar to the used in the physical therapists office. It adjusts via manual compression instead of automatic. I prefer this because it allows me to adjust to my comfort level. As for as the results: I can feel an incredible difference equal to the machine in the physical therapist's office. Make sure you adjust slowly. When you reach a point where you feel your neck cannot stretch any further hold it for 15 min. One you're finished, SLOWLY release the valve. You will sit up and instantly feel a difference. However, I am not a doctor and I cannot advise you how to use this device. This is only a review. I'm very blessed to have this device. And I hope it will continue to provide years of relief.

Dangerous! Not anatomically correct.
As a retired RN with 30 years of experience, I strongly advise against this device. The angle of traction is all wrong. It compresses the TMJ (jaw) area instead of properly lifting the occiput. I tried to adjust the wedges every which way, but it just creates tension headaches. It’s alarming that they sell this without a prescription or proper fitting guidelines. You could seriously injure your cervical spine if you have instability. Stick to manual traction from a licensed PT. By the way, the package was poorly packed.

Most affordable, and most comfortable unit!
I don't usually write reviews, but because of the importance of what this item is used for I felt I owe it to others suffering from back problems. I have used other devices and they all work in a similar fashion. I tried the pulley system and the biggest problem with that system was comfort and ease of use. That system was a pain to use. I needed to fill water bags and hang them, so if you want to change the resistance then you would have to stop your session and empty or add water to the bag. It was also a pain to get into since you would need to pull the water bag down and then strap your neck into a very uncomfortable strap system. The other system I used was the Saunders cervical traction unit. I liked the Saunders and actually wanted that system and only chose the ComforTrac due to the reviews on Amazon and the smaller price tag. The only gripes I had with the Saunders was that it did not secure your head very well and it tended to leak slowly and the resistance needed to be constantly adjusted. The plus I give the Saunders is that the strap that goes over your head secures down tightly. The ComforTrac secures your head with rubber pieces that feel like skin. They grip very well and hold your head tightly in place. The strap simply wraps over, overlaps and secures with velcro. So does the Saunders but the sanders has a clip in the middle that helps secure the strap tighter. That really is the only plus the Saunders has over the ComforTrac. The Saunders leaked and when you released the pressure you need to turn a dial on the pump. The ComforTrac does not leak at all! The ComforTrac also releases pressure by pushing a button which feels much easier to use. Both units come in a custom bag. I personally like the bag the ComforTrac comes in much better because it is literally a duffle bag with foam cut to secure the unit in the bag. There is room to add other small items needed such as the manual. My belief is that both the Saunders and the ComforTrac are clearly the best choices and you can't go wrong with either one, but the ComforTrac is the more comfortable unit for a more affordable price.

Helpful product, not perfect
I herniated two discs, C5/C6 and C7/T1 and am symptomatic with both, tingling in the fingers, loss of finger and especially thumb strength, some loss of wrist and bicep strength as well. I also have an athletic build with a 17.5" neck, previous review suggested this would be problematic. Looking at other available solutions, there didn't appear to be any better solutions so I decided to give this a try. To use the unit, you set it up and lay on your back resting your head in between the adjustable rests which pinch the neck at the base of your skull. With my particular build, my neck is almost as wide as my head at the base of the skull, so with the rests set wide enough to accommodate my neck, there isn't a lot of skull for the rests to grab. But there still is some. There is also an adjustable velcro strap which goes across the forehead holding down the head into the rests and providing some grip. Once positioned there is a very good mini bike pump which allows you to pump up a piston and stretch the neck. Pump takes little effort to get to a reasonable working pressure and has a dial which is calibrated in pounds of tension. Very nice. Overall quality of the unit is very good. My biggest complaint in the velcro strap. With a thick neck, the rests don't have a lot of grip, I have to rely heavily upon the strap to hold my head in position. The strap is awkward to use. It has a some stretch to it and it needs to be pulled securely and it is more difficult than it needs to be especially if one of your hands has lost some of it's finesse from a pinched nerve, a likely scenario for someone who would purchase this product. I have to stretch the right side straight up, pull it over my forehead to the left side, somehow either hold it with my right hand now on the left side and use the left hand to pull the left strap over to the other side without the right hand getting in the way, or switch hands without losing tension. Even worse, the quality of the velcro doesn't look like something that will hold up very well. The fuzzy side is just regular fabric. Once I do have the strap tight enough to hold my head in position, the strap is uncomfortably tight, not uncomfortable enough to where I am not going to use it I have another unit, the http://www.amazon.com/Posture-1000-Cervical-Hydrator-Standard/dp/B003DLZ0OE/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1398614978&sr=8-8&keywords=neck+traction. Function wise it doesn't seem to help with my condition, but its strap and velcro are much better and it is much easier to place correctly, tighten without assistance, and holds the head securely. I could see where if your neck wasn't as thick, the strap may not be very critical as you could probably get enough bite from the rests to where it wasn't needed. Don't know for sure though. Finally, just a comment on the results. When the discs first herniated and I became very symptomatic, I couldn't touch the thumb and the little finger on my left hand together. Some chiro adjustments, trainload of anti-inflammatories, plus time got me to where I could but severe loss of strength, certain gripping functions down to 10% of normal. At 3 months, my rate of improvement seemed to stagnate, I purchased this ~5 months after and have been using it pretty consistently for 3 weeks. Using it 3x/day for 10-15 minutes each seems pretty effective. In general, tingling is reduced, I'm not having to take the 1800 mg/day of ibuprofen, and some of the hand and finger function has come back. Of course, you mileage may vary.

Great product, Amazing Customer Service
I bought this to relieve pain from a herniated disc in my c-spine. The device has 3 different incline settings which let you target different parts of your neck, depending on where the issue is. I had done traction previously in the physical therapists office and this is comparable to, if not better than what they had. I was using it for a few weeks when the pump started gradually losing pressure so that I had to keep pumping every second or two to maintain pressure. I emailed ComfortTrac customer service and got a reply in a couple hours to set up a time to talk. They called me at the time specified and we talked through the issue and they sent me a replacement pump, with absolutely zero hassles. The pump was easy to replace and now it works great. If you are looking for a traction device, this one is easy to use and made by a company that truly does stand behind their 3 year warranty. I can't recommend highly enough. Word to the wise - don't overdo it! Look up the recommended protocols and gradually ramp up the time and pressure. The first day I had it I went a little too crazy for too long at too high a pressure and gave myself a headache. I use a FIIT app to track intervals and do some time on, then a short rest. After my initial mishap, I started at 1 min on / 30 sec off for 5 intervals, at 10-15psi 2x a day. I have gradually increased the amount of time to 2 min on and the number of intervals to 8. It isn't a magic cure - but it does help for me especially because I find my neck hurts more the more time I spend upright, so countering that pressure is key to things not getting worse.
