Mandelic Acid 20% AHA Alpha Hydroxy Peel Medical Strength Used For Rosacea, Cystic Acne, Blackheads, Pores, Whiteheads, Hyperpigmentation, Melasma, Age Spots, Sun Spots (1.0 fl. oz / 30 ml)

I purchased this 20% Mandelic Acid because it is the highest available on Amazon at the time of this review. I had been using another mandelic acid (also purchased on Amazon) that utilized 12% Mandelic acid, and even though this is only 8% stronger, it is much more effective. I use this on skin imperfections that arise from too much UV/Sun exposure, namely sun spots and minor wrinkles. As with any form of acid, this 20% Mandelic acid can chemically burn your skin if you use it too frequently, leave it on too long, or do not use a neutralizer. I utilize a neutralizer after 8 minutes of skin contact. Several days later the skin healthily peels a thin layer off and exposes the new fresh skin. Some people do not understand that this is the intended method and effect. I like that this does not have any fragrance, I'm a male and do not want to smell like flowers or cinnamon. This product is effective and priced competitively. I have been using it for several months now with positive results. I would recommend this to others.

Be careful on using too much. BUT, applying too little will also yield less results. Know your skin!--If that makes sense. For cystic acne, this WORKED as advertised! I applied using a q-tip to the areas where that acne is WAY under the skin. You'll begin seeing it come to surface after a couple of uses (for me, I had deep ones so I did 2 applications after each other --apply, wait, rinse thoroughly). The skin where acne is at begins to turn white-ish. BE SURE to apply heavy duty post-cosmetic surgery cream to it afterwards to make sure it heals nicely overnight and the days after. I use SkinMedica scar treatment (pricy but worth it). But something that is post chemical treatment is what you want to use as a moisturizer afterwards.

Applied to clean dry face. Left on 20 mins. Had very little peel of facial skin....but I also peel monthly. Will try next month and leave on longer. I did not feel any burn or tingle.

I’ve tried many peels such as skinmedica rejuvinize which is the strongest they sell. Although I like the skinmedica this peel was really good. Stronger than I expected although I did Microneedling with a roller right before. I had about 10 days of of peeling but after my skin was AMAZING. I’ve also been using the peel to lighten my uhh intimate areas lol ...which is what I originally bought this peel for and have had good results with that as well. I also used the Microneedling roller there as well. Anyway, I’m buying another bottle of this 20% mandelic acid. I highly recommend. I may buy a 30 % for my neck and chest since the skin is more resilient. I would recommend trying the peel on a spot to see how your skin does especially if you haven’t done peel in a while or first timer.

Don't let the 20% fool you, this will be enough to peel your skin. You can prep the skin with light micro needling first and apply acid for a deeper peel. Don't apply too much! Just a light coat. Don't forget to neutralize the area with a water and baking soda mixture and rinse with cold water to stop the action. It'll take a few days depending on the area to start peeling off. If you do around the intimate area, be gentle or otherwise it'll be peeling for a while, it's itchy and uncomfortable!!! If your going to get a second peel wait at least a month for your skin to heal. Cell turnover occurs every 40 to 50 days depending on age. The older the longer it takes. This acid is perfect for ethnic skins because it doesn't encourage hyperpigmentation. I recommend!

I've used other at home acide peels but id have to say this beats all of them. In my teens I used a 20% acid peel not sure of the brand. It worked for my enlarged pours, textured skin and acne prone skin, but it was 50 dollars for a small bottle. Over time wasn't worth it. But this is Inexpensive and you get a fair amount for the price. I used it for the first time last night and I must say my pours looked so much tighter and smaller I can't wait to see the results from continuous use.
