I've been trying new things lately, and this Raslok Shikakai Powder natural hair cleanser and conditioner is definitely a novelty for me. A powder shampoo? Why not try? At least it's not in a plastic container! And as I researched it I learned that shikakai has long been used to clean hair in India, with rave reviews. This has been a bit of a "mixed bag" for me. First off, the package didn't seem to be well-sealed, as there was powder coming out the top of the package and into the mailer. It smells really strong - but that was already announced in the advert, so I knew to expect it. So, how does one use a powdered shampoo? I followed the directions: mix two tablespoons with a bit of water to make a paste ... let it sit for an hour ... then mix in 1 cup hot water. Let is cool down, then use. I mixed this in a blender bottle (such as is used for protein drinks). The mixture doesn't thicken up, so it is poured on the head. It's a bit of a mess to use. (But the odor of the powder is reduced once it is mixed - it's not bad.) The good news is that my hair did come out soft, and with more pronounced waves that other "curly girl" shampoos I have used. It seems to do well with my hair, which is the ultimate purpose of a shampoo. I will continue to use this since I have it ... but time will tell whether the long process of mixing it up ahead of time is worth the long-term result.

I purchase this to use it mix with henna to apply on my hair, i am using it and it really helped me in keeping my hair clean from impurities, plus makes my oily hair full and healthy. My hair looks healthy fluffy, best quality product

I got this for a Vine product review because it seemed a unique product to wash and condition hair. PROS * very good price for what will last a long time * both washes and conditions * leaves hair feeling quite nice * you do not need a lot to go a long way! CONS and why I deducted a star * pain to make if you used every day Still I recommend. Maybe not as a daily use product but as a few times a month treatment.
