Was very skeptical, but now I am super impressed with this mower and the battery tech. LOVE IT!
My mower: LM2135SP POWER+ Mower 21" Select Cut™ System with Touch Drive™ Self-Propelled Kit (7.5Ah Battery) It came with an extra FREE 5Ah battery when I bought it. I'm in the honeymoon phase, but this mower has been amazing! I am DEEPLY impressed with my EGO battery tools, and this is coming from a heavy skeptic and heavy pre-purchase researcher. I was turned off by the stupid, modern aesthetics of the EGO mowers, but compared to everything else on the market, the EGO mowers seemed to get the best reviews. I am just annoyed by the modern, crinkly design aesthetic. The mower *could* be a smooth turtle shell design, which would be amazingly easy to clean with a single wipe. Instead we've got a plastic shell that has infinite creases, slopes, flats, valleys, hard-to-reach areas and whatever. But I guess that's what people like these days. So I grabbed this deal (with the FREE extra 5Ah battery, and I am so glad that I did! Firstly, this mower is way lighter than I was expecting. It looks like a monster in the listing, but it's actually extremely light. Love the front and rear handles, great design! I am replacing a 30 year-old Black and Decker corded electric mower, and this new EGO mower is much lighter. And yes, my corded mower lasted me 30 years! I bought it in 1995. I'm not expecting the same from the EGO, but it is often true that "they don't make 'em like they used to". My lawn is about 3000 square feet and it has lots of obstacles and crinkles, but is generally flat. This mower has a self-propelled mode that is nice and easy to use, but I mostly don't need it. You can easily push or pull this mower with one hand. My grass is not "lush" and the cut with the stock blade setup is excellent to me. Also, I have always bagged my grass, but now I have decided to just use the side discharge chute and HOLY MOLY I cannot believe how well this mower mulches. The grass coming out of the chute is almost like a powder. I'm not joking. This mower has way more power than I was expecting! You can hear the grass being sliced by the fast moving blades as you go. The design of the grass side chute, though, is surprisingly lame. It just kind of wedges in position with the rear, spring-loaded door just kind of lopsidedly holding it in place. Still works though. Love the 4 position handle, and the grass cutting height adjustment is crazy easy to use... but it was also easy on my old corded mower. Secondly, I was able to mow my entire lawn, trim my entire lawn, and clean up with a blower with a SINGLE 7.5Ah battery that had two full bars left over when I finished. Astonishing. (yes, I also have the EGO trimmer/blower combo) I have large oak trees in my lawn, and I have to be sure now to clear the lawn of the twigs and such that fall from these trees. The EGO mower is light for a reason... it doesn't feel like it could withstand having twigs smashed around on the underside. If I didn't clear the debris, I would expect to have cracked and holey plastic around the blades. But this is all just speculation at the moment. I do kind of wish the blade area was made of metal.

Excellent through the first month
I bought this to replace a nearly 40-year-old Honda Harmony 216 which had an outstanding performer (I hadn't changed the oil in 15 years) but had some deferred maintenance liked a cracked gas tank, no self-propulsion, and bad wheels. When the wire to the blade broke, I decided to get an electric and chose the Ego because I have an Ego blower which has been a super useful tool. This mower is pretty light weight and much more maneuverable than the Honda. It's obviously quieter than any gas mower. Set up was pretty easy though no one in my family considers me handy. My mowing area is probably around 50 x 30 ft though the actual grassy area is smaller, having been reduced by years of California drought, gophers, and ground squirrels. The Ego can cut this area plus pick up lots of leaves on our patio and flagstones using one bar of the battery, i.e. it has nearly a full charge when I have finished. It does a much better job of picking up leaves on flat surfaces like the flagstones and the road than the Honda did. Our grass isn't growing at this time of year so it's difficult to fully evaluate the cutting ability. I bought the self-propelled model because at age 75 I was concerned about the weight, but the machine is very easy to push so I have stopped using self-propelled mode. I also note that the machine can be very fast in self-propelled mode and I advise turning the speed control down the first time and adjusting as needed. In retrospect, the self-propulsion and larger battery are likely overkill for my needs, but I guess the final verdict will have to wait until spring or summer.

Great Machine
When my gas-powered Toro died this spring, I chose to go electric. I did a lot of searching and comparison before deciding on this mower. I have a zoysia lawn which is very thick when growing. I also have a pool so I had to find a mower that would effectively bag the clippings. This mower seems a bit pricey but it was worth it. This unit has enough torque to get through the lawn with relative ease. I use the high-throw blade and all the clippings bag like my old gas mower. When the lawn is really thick, it will use all the battery power (but I have other Ego units) so there is no problem. I love this mower, no gas, no oil, no spark plug, no air filter, so much less maintenance. I also LOVE the fast charger.

So far this thing is the best mower that I've used. The battery lasts long enough to fully mow my property and I like that I can use the same battery for different EGO products.

Had an elderly Honda 53 which became rusty. I thought of a straight replacement as it had served me well. Which? referred me the Ego. I was pleasantly surprised to find a 53. It is about 10 kilos lighter which was a big plus as i grow old. The collection bucket seems to hold more than previous mower which saves time and mess. Little bit tricky to get accustomed to controls. I live on a slope and lawn is not straightforward but i find it easy and quick with the Ego. The battery easily copes. I have only used the Ego 5 times but so far seems an excellent purchase.
