Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: I Wish I Was This Funny And Smart - Feel Free To Quote Me? Hmm, can I just hire The Captain to script every conversation I have? (Especially arguments.) As well as just following me everywhere, chipping in with witty observations so by the end of the day my stomach is aching so much from giggling, stifling guffaws and laughing. No? Is that asking too much? Good thing he published a book full of such witty retorts, observations and comments for me to pick up whenever I want. Just a shame it isn't pocket sized so I could carry it with me everywhere and whip it out when I'm stuck for a brilliant comeback. I would seriously recommend reading anything this guy writes. He is a smart, funny writer and this book is full of oodles of laughs and some real gems. For example, 'Anybody who says, "You can't judge a book by its cover", in reference to themselves, should be forced to write an autobiography to prove it.' This one amused my brother too, who asked if he could borrow the book once I'd finished reading it. You're welcome, Captain, for recruiting another fan. I just love The Captain's outlook on stuff and he rarely fails to make me laugh. So don't even deliberate, stop reading any more reviews, just buy the book and you can thank me later. Review: Banging. Get it. - Amazing book for insights, thought provocation, laughs and reflection. Spot on

Clever and cutting. Love it!
I follow 'The Captain' on Instagram, so I knew this would be an amusing and enjoyable read. I do wish the quotes were lengthier as his explanations for the quotes are, in my opinion, the funniest and most interesting. Well worth the money though....at last a guy who promotes wit, intelligence and punctuation and actually makes it cool. A great stocking filler.

I do quote you
I have been following the captain for a few years on social media. I love his quotes and outlooks on life, so when asked what I'd like for my 33rd birthday, I chose his books. I took a bottle of whisky to the garden, poured myself a dram in the sunshine. I sat beside my dog and I read aloud to my mum some of the quotes as I was laughing and it was brilliant. I suggest everyone get this book. Slainte captain! ( yes I copied and pasted the same review for both books. They were both read one after the other on that same afternoon, and I'm being lazy.)

A weapon, for your mouth AND your hand...
The Captain is a hilarious, insightful genius. I only didn't give this book a 5 star rating because he was must surely have been convinced by someone of far less intellect to publish it in this format! It's unnecessarily large and bulky but doesn't even have a hard cover!? Still, it's awesome and you must make the purchase.

Humor is tricky nowadays—it seems like most people either belong in the camps of easily offended or constant offender. But in the middle of that spectrum is The Captain; a smart and witty man that brings sarcastic humor to many of our shared social annoyances. His writing style makes you feel like you’re having a discussion with a lifelong friend about shit that drives you crazy about "people these days". Each book contains little snippets of his opinions/observations on dating, vaping, and grammatical infractions. (But thankfully not all of those things at the same time because that.would.be.awful. I’m not sure even he could make light of that dark situation.) By the end of each, you’ll have no doubts how he feels about cargo shorts, dudes wearing sandals in non-sand environments, and the fuckboy/fuckgirl craze taking the nation by storm. In a stark contrast to his judgments on the aforementioned, you can tell The Captain is genuinely an activist for humanity. He encourages his dear readers (“us”) to put our phones down and bravely engage in conversations with strangers. He almost begs of us to turn off the TV and pick up a book. He promotes substance over style. He’s cleverly brought back the concept of dating without also bringing back outdated dating concepts like gender roles, settling just to settle, and not having a life outside of a relationship. Even though his advice usually involves a variety of four-letter words, he usually always points us back to being a kind human, being true to ourselves, and ignoring a lot of the senseless rules society has given us. (Especially if that rule has to do with the Oxford comma because he will fight for his right to use it.) These books are perfect for: anyone going through a breakup, anyone getting into a new relationship, anyone who lacks ambition, anyone with terrible grammar, anyone who’s considering being a vegan, anyone who takes life too seriously, anyone who doesn’t take life seriously enough, anyone who needs a laugh going through chemo, anyone who loves puppies, anyone who loves booze, anyone who absolutely loves random thoughts, anyone who’s super judgmental, anyone who swear’s they’re not judgmental at all, anyone who lacks standards in life and/or relationships, anyone who needs an example of a dude strong enough to handle a strong woman, anyone who frequently sends unsolicited pics of their private parts to other people, anyone addicted to reality TV and/or The Kardashians, anyone who prefers beauty over brains, anyone who has friends that give terrible advice, anyone who hates the Oxford comma, and well, basically everyone.

This did not disappoint, and I WILL most certainly be quoting The Captain. Matter of fact, I was texting quotes to my friends as I was reading and as they pertained to them specifically. Like the one who said “hump day”. The Captain says “they’re not original, they’re trying to hard, and their jokes are awful....And, they’re a f*%#ing dork”. He’s not wrong. And now that friend knows it. Well....former friend. Thanks Cap!!
