I grew up with thick naturally curly hair. Age and an autoimmune disease has resulted in thin and fine hair that I spend too much money and time on. I read about the Arencia Night Shadow solid shampoo bar and purchased from curiosity I guess. I love it . Clean , shiny, hair with lot 's of body. No perfume smell . Just a soft , clean smell that does not over power my actual perfume. Love the freedom of just one product . Great nondrying lather resulting in shiny , bouncy hair.

June 25 - I’ll write a “user” review after I’ve had a few days to try this product. For now, this is what it looked like upon arrival. I’m not sure what I expected, but imagined the bar would have been bigger. I hope it doesn’t erode away too quickly. July 6 - Not impressed. It’s a lathery soap. The end. It does not have a noticeable pleasant aroma, and body odors arise quicker than my brand named soap. (Yikes!) Also the soap puck (because it looks like a hockey puck) broke into pieces suddenly after about 10 days use. Attaching updated pictures of the broken soap and the left and right view of my ever present gray hair. *NOTE: I got a haircut 5 days in and hoped that would expedite the process for changing the color. See for yourself the results. I will continue to use until the last fragments of soap are gone and then write one final review. July 25 - When the puck got this small I wasn’t sure how long it would last so I took a picture. Then I showered and it obliterated, so good timing I guess. I found no difference in the color or texture of my hair over the last 5+ weeks use. Though the soap lathers well, - in my opinion - it does not provide a greater benefit than any other soap product, and it is certainly not worth the price.

I have tried other bar soap shampoos, this so far has been the best. It gives my overly fine, and fragile grey hair volume and yet leaves it soft. For as long as I continue to sport even a thinning head of hair this will be the shampoo I use. It led me try some other ARENCIA products that are very good , skin cleansers and moisturizers but they are not as eco friendly and come in plastic containers. This shampoo however is the real deal.

The idea of this shampoo in a bar is brilliant; certainly great for travel. Here are the cons: The size is rather small for the price. I am really off-put by the scent- it smells rather like cheap perfume that I cant stand, it would be much more acceptable to me if it was unscented. I was disappointed in that white and black flecking supposedly designed for gray hair would be a great color enhancer = did absolutely nothing; The soap itself cleans well and doesn’t leave the hair dry or over oily; however I did notice that I have to wash my hair more often when I use this shampoo, perhaps it does have something that increases oil production in the sebaceous glands or is itself somewhat oily. It also claims that it encourages hair regrow the- I found ZERO benefit in this claim.. It claims it is a Volumizing shampoo- made my hair rather limp. Over all, I think this is an expensive bar shampoo that claims a lot of benefits it doesn’t deliver. Too bad because I really wanted to like it.

Smells good. All good until rinsed off and the hair is so dry and need to add a lot of conditioner just to be able to run my fingers through my hair to wash it off. Hair feels stiff after
