It Killed One Ant
UPDATE EDIT April 9,2025: I have been using this on and off since my initial purchase. Except for the first usage, where the ants [seemingly] showed utter disdain for the liquid ant bait flavor, it has proven to be very effective at its intended purpose. They now seem to love it. I upgraded my review to 5 star. Maybe it is an acquired taste. END OF APRIL 9, 2025 UPDATE EDIT UPDATE EDIT: Sep. 11, 2024 UPDATE: Today I found ants feeding on the Liquid Ant Bait. It has been 20 days since I placed the ant bait on my window sill, with the ants showing ZERO interest - until today! (I did not add any new liquid ant bait; I left the bait stations alone for 20 days with the original ant bait that I placed in them.) Now the ants were swarming around it like it was a feeding trough. (NOTE: I did add additional fresh ant bait AFTER the ants started arriving.) The video that I shared shows the ants shortly after I noticed them. The quantity of ants increased significantly after I shot the video, but I did not record any additional video. The ants fed on it for approximately 12 hours - a constant stream of ants coming and going for a large portion of that time. The ants eventually stopped and departed - every single one - even though there was still plenty of ant bait in the bait stations. There were no dead ants around the bait stations, which I found interesting. I also found it interesting that the ants just completely stopped coming. One other noteworthy item: I placed an additional amount of ant bait on the kitchen counter (near the stream of ants) without using a bait station (thus the ant bait was in contact with the counter and the painted kitchen wall). Some of the ants veered off of the main path to feed on this additional glob of ant bait. However, after all of the ants had departed, there were approximately 20 dead ants near this new glob that I had added. So it appears that the ant bait is effective. I updated my rating from a 1 to a 3. I just wish the ant bait had a more appealing flavor so the ants would be quickly drawn to it and gorge themselves. I believe that would make the product more effective. One more note: The product manufacturer contacted me, stating that they would like to address any issues or concerns - that customer satisfaction was important to them. I did not respond, but I did appreciate them reaching out to me. Thank you. END OF UPDATE EDIT I had a great opportunity to try this product today. I have had ants [intermittently] for a while now, so I ordered this Liquid Ant Bait. It arrived yesterday. This morning when I went to my kitchen, there were thousands of ants feasting on some banana bread and muffins that were in unsealed packaging from the manufacturer. After removing the banana bread and muffins, I put a little of this Liquid Ant Bait in two of the Bait Stations, positioned them very close to where the stream of ants was coming in (the wall outlet), and even brushed a number of ants into one of the Bait Stations (to help give them a taste). I left the 2 Bait Stations out for quite some time while there were still many ants roaming around, searching for lost pastries. The ants just basically ignored the Liquid Ant Bait. Even the ants that I forced into the Bait Station departed - along with every other ant in the kitchen - without so much as a second glance. Apparently, the ants did not find the Liquid Ant Bait to be nearly as delicious as the banana bread. I did, however, see one dead ant in the liquid ant bait. I think it most likely drowned when I pushed it and its friends into the Bait Station. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AT ALL. I think it only killed one ant - probably by drowning.

Easy to use and highly effective.
Don't usually do reviews but, this works so well I have to. This usually gets rid of the ant problem in 4 days. Used it 3 different locations worked every time. Lots of ants at first then they just disappear after going the bait stations. Just don't use too much it will overflow the station.

Great Product That Works!
Being a former pest control technician I know what works and what doesn't and believe me, this stuff works. After using a well known insecticide to spray baseboards and the back of countertops it didn't affect the ant problem I had at all. So I went on Amazon and started looking at other solutions. That's when I saw Catchmaster Defiant. Knowing that if you kill the queen you get rid of the entire colony I decided to try this product. Wow! It works great and the ants disappeared quickly! I highly recommend this product because it Works!

Zero stars! Does not work!
I bought this with the plan to eliminate an ant colony near my front door behind the baseboard - must be in the wall area. There is no ant trail outside anywhere near this area. With all the great reviews I had high hopes. I put out 2 bait stations, and while it DID draw out a lot of ants, there didn’t see to be a lot of interest in the 2 stations. They are the very tiny black ants… After 3 days with a huge number crawling all around the area (and only a few interested in the bait stations), I decided to double-down and put out the other 2 stations, all within a 2-ft area. With the 1st 2 stations, wondering what was happening to the liquid I originally put in, I added another small pool of liquid on the other side of the station. It is now 10 days later and I am NOT noticing the ‘expected decrease in population during the 2nd week’. Actually the opposite seems to be true, I’m noticing some larger black ants - still small, but larger than the original teeny-tiny original ones - they seem to be growing and thriving on this bait! And, there are more teeny-tiny ones - likely newborns. I DID answer my question of what happens to the liquid that sits in the trays! With the total exposure to air, most of the moisture dries out of it, leaving a SUPER-STICKY THICK messy residue that’s hard to get out! With a small plastic garbage bag nearby and plenty of paper towels, I managed to get MOST of the super-concentrated thick sticky ick out. There was still some attached to the plastic tray, so I took it to a sink and managed to get it out with very warm water - I needed clean trays for my “pass 2” of refilling all 4 stations to sit for another week. I’m not happy letting ANY of the messy sticky residue down the drain, but I didn’t see another option. They manufacturer really needs to supply about 30 of the trays and state that they are for single use - dispose of the whole thing after a few days and then refill new ones. I will give it one more week, and then after 2 weeks if there are still a lot of ants, I’ll contact my pest control company to do their thing. I was hoping to be able to take care of this myself! It seems like the most ants getting exterminated are those that crawl into the sticky mess in the tray and then can’t get out! So much for the “take the bait back to the nest” concept! Personally, I think the terro bait ‘houses’ work better - the clear plastic rectangles where you snip off the end, leaving a ‘ramp’ for the ants to get up to the bait’! And now I feel like I have teeny tiny ants crawling on me, from the time I sat nearby their area with paper towels, trying to remove the sticky goopy mess! As you can see, I’m NOT happy with this product at all!

It didnt work for me
Did not work that well for me. I put this out for a week. It dries up and becomes hard so you have to keep replenishing every day. Ants were eating it but they never completely went away. After a week there was still a steady flow of ants. I would recommend Advion ant gel. That stuff will kill ants after2 to 3 days. I do not recommend the Advion gel trap since very little gel in the trap and it was already drying up.

Finally got 'em!
I usually don't write reviews, but this stuff worked like a champ. I filled the trays (yeah, it was more than a drop or two - I filled them to the top!) and set them around the kitchen. A few hours later the ants were all over them, and two days later, they are gone! I haven't seen a single ant in my kitchen for two days! And after the nightmare that was coming in through the window sill (yes, I need to seal it up from the outside) after four days of solid rain, now there is nothing. They are gone! I'm going to leave the trays out (filled, of course) for the rest of the week as a precaution. But...so far, no ants! I'm a beleiver.... UPDATE: I bought this product three weeks ago. To date, I have not seen one single ant in my house. I checked under all the cabinets and under the sink to see if maybe they just moved. They did not move. They are gone! And no, I don’t get paid to write reviews.😁

Unexpectedly effective!
Had a large colony of ants coming into the kitchen through a crack in floor. They were relentless. I put these traps and even just squirted some on floor where I knew they were. In 8 hours it was so covered with ants it was like spilled black paint. I had no idea the colony was that big! They seemed to all get stuck so didn’t think they would get the poison where it needed to go. But by morning they were all gone! They all got free and took bair back home with them. Absolutely destroyed them. I am shocked how effective this was. I used a lot of it. I made sure they could all get access to it.
