Superb model

A great corgie model brings back many memories.

🐟 I must admit that I always wanted to start a small collection of models from the sows that were dear to me when I was young, and some of these more modern versions are certainly a lot less expensive than the originals. I don’t intend to keep it out of the box, as the box art and the whole presentation of the model are part of its charm. 🧜 The Stingray submarine is relatively small, about the size of my hand, but well secured in the box in a display pose, so I can look at it without it becoming dusty on a shelf somewhere. The dimensions all look reasonable given my recollection of the original, and the colours are good too, with a glossy finish. A stand is included inside the box, and all the model features are there, including the transparent EVA pods on the side, missiles, and distinctive fins and engine. There is no interior detail. The internal box art shows an underwater scene for display. 🔱 The missile mechanism is a little fiddly and toy-like, and the missiles don’t sit well inside the launchers. You only get two, so there is no spare. These are fired from a button underneath. There are many other details that either represent details from the original show model, such as a representation of the skids underneath, or the pods under the wings that I had not noticed before, even having watched Stingray hundreds of times as a kid. 🌿 It’s a great model, and I can only wish for a matching Aquaphibian Terror Fish from the same stable. Recommended. ✔️

What a little beaut of a stingray this is. I would i killed to have one of these back in the 60's. It's about 5/6 inches long, but has quite a weighty feel to it. Metal body, only plastic is the windows and propeller. The paint job is glorious. Missiles work fine, but as mine is for display so they go back in the box. Stand is a little flimsy and a tad awkward to fit and get good pose. Next to my product enterprise stingray it does look small. But ya know what? This is the best stingray in years, and at th8s price excellent value. In a couple of years you will see it's price go up. So get one now...

Corgi CC01001 Stingray Corgi - TV Film License and Event Die-Cast Collectible Model. Very good overall finish, missile launchers fidely but that might be just the one I have. It's to be displayed in a clear case on a shelf. Out of the reach of children with my Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet collections.
