A must have expansion for heroquest, with some quality miniatures.
This is an awesome expansion and the one I've used the most. The miniatures are really detailed (and pretty fearsome looking). All of the furniture pieces are great as well, especially the main door that actual goes up and down. This is a must have for anyone who owns Heroquest (you also get some great expansion class, the druid, with new item cards). I've used the miniatures in this game for other RP games I play and they work great there too. The druid is really worth it by the way, this is one of the classes that my friends play the most. It's really fun to turn into a bear and rip those monsters apart.

Very fun expansion, high quality. For more advanced HQ players
This is my favorite overall Hero Quest expansion that I've played so far. While all the Hero Quest expansions great, the miniatures in this one are especially high quality and the game play is fun and challenging. The difficulty of this expansion is higher than all of "small box" expansions. To make sure your hero's aren't overwhelmed I suggest playing Ogre Horde after the starter system (either First Light or the Original Game system) and after playing through Kellar's Keep, Return of the Witch Lord and at least one of the other "small box" expansions originally released with the "Mythic Tier" crowd sourced campaign (Prophecy of Telor, Spirit Queen's Torment, and The Crypt of Perpetual Darkness). Against the Ogre Horde has 10 Quests, although 3 of them are "mini" quests with a new and extremely fun arena combat system (which can also be used for player vs. player battles). The other 7 Quests are faithfully reproduced from the 1990's version of this expansion that was only released in the UK. The miniatures are especially well made in this set, and I value the variety of new monsters this adds to my collection. The fan who likes to home brew their own quests will gain a ton of useful monsters, tiles, and game mechanics to use. The new Druid hero in this expansion is the one disappointment for me. While the Druid does have new and interesting mechanics, it seems underpowered compared to hero's from other expansions. The hero wolf miniature will come in handy though for other expansions (no spoilers here!).

World's End Tournament! Ogres! What's not to like?
The adventure continues! Against the Ogre Horde is a remake of the original version that was not released in North America but was available elsewhere. With the relaunch of the Heroquest board game by Habro/Avalon Hill, they have already recreated the North America expansions and even included a few new expansion packs. Now they bring Against the Ogre Horde back, but using the North America rules for the game (the old versions had different rules for North America and Europe as well as other parts of the world). This version included a new way to play, battle in the arena! Rules for arena battles are given, trophy tiles explained, treasure in the arena table, team rosters, room and arena tiles, etc. The arena is available to played separately if desired, almost like a mini game. However, you can also add it as a prequel to Against the Ogre Horde as the first 3 quests in the quest book are The World's End Tournament. This is bound to test the heroes might as they try to prove themselves worthy. If you find the arena is not to your liking, you can skip right into the remake of the original Against the Ogre Horde as quest 4 through 10 mirror the original release. There are some changes obviously, no variable body points this go around for instance, but overall the remake has stuck closely to the original. It does however add a bit more treasure as the heroes may need more healing potions this time around! So if you've previously played years ago, this will be a pleasant trip down memory lane (or maybe not - depends on if you survived) and if you are new to this expansion, then be prepared to be challenged! As digital Zargon would say, "I expect you to die!"

UPDATE! Game is great but packing from Amazon is lacking.
UPDATE, I received a replacement shipped in a box after calling customer service to complain about how it was shipped. If you order this product, call Amazon Customer service and request to ship the order in a box. It's a beautiful set and I have updated my rating from 1 star to 5 stars based on the product itself. This is the replacement copy that just came in from Amazon. My last copy came destroyed (shipped in a bag) and this copy is damaged as well (also shipped in a bag). The expansion is awesome, but the poor packaging from Amazon makes it useless.

The game expansion arrived in perfect condition. I am very excited to play and paint the figures. Worth the price, some figures are large as expected. Heroquest is my favorite tabletop game.

Great quality, great game system. Super happy and if you know about HQ then you know you will have to add this one to your collection.

Easy to learn and play, functionality, value for money. This product D&D like board game is a classical like Dungeons and dragons board game because it old story theme for playing vintage adventure quests. This is a great accessory to the Heroquest board game. Make sure you buy the Heroquest first board game in order to play the basics and to move on to further quests. The quality is good as an expansion to your Heroquest boardgame. A five star becuase it is one of the top fantasy board games on the list.

A good expansion for HeroQuest, the new Arena is a cool idea and one I've been wanting in a game like this for a while. If you like HeroQuest and want more, this is a good buy.
