Powerful and very good gaming router
I have been changing different routers to make my home connection stable especially since I am streaming my Playstation using my PS portal, but other advertised routers that are wifi6 have instability which makes my PS portal stutters. This Asus router is the best gaming router you can buy if you are tight on budget. I love this very much. perfect for my 250Mbps home internet connection. A must-buy.

Setup was easy and app worked eventually. Despite warranty information referring to Australian customers, it ships with UK and US style plugs. Maybe they forgot it, but from my own experience Australian customers will need a plug adaptor to make it work.

After an initial hiccup the RT-AX52 has been rock solid for me. The hiccup was that it would sometimes lose the 2.4 ghz WiFi completely. It wouldn't even show up in the list of WiFi connections to connect to on my iPhone. After a couple of reboots of the router it came back and I was able to connect to it without issue and it's been faultless ever since (nearly 3 months). That hiccup only happened on the first day of receiving it and setting it up. I can't give a full in-depth review because I'm using it in Access Point mode which disables a lot of the router functions such as QOS, VPN, Alexa integration, etc. It has many of the same functions and features as my more powerful ASUS RT-AXE7800 router and there's no reason to believe the RT-AX52 will be any less competent. As an access point it functions very well. I have it set up in a shed at the top of the garden (55 metres/180 feet) away. The internet connection is coming from a very long ethernet cable connected between a switch in the house and another switch in the shed. From there the RT-AX52 is connected via a short ethernet cable to the shed switch. When I plug a laptop in to one of the RT-AX52's LAN ports and run SpeedTest I get my full 1gig download speed and maximum upload speed. When I unplug that short ethernet cable and connect to the WiFi speeds are great. Obviously, speeds are at their very best when closer to the router/access point and connected to 5ghz WiFi but even when walking 20-30 metres away from the router I stay connected to the 5 ghz network and have usable speeds. The 2.4ghz band gives me full garden coverage and more than adequate speeds. I was able to play YouTube videos in 1080p, 2K and 4K resolutions without any lag or buffering. Before purchasing I knew that I wanted a router that I could use as an access point, was easily configurable, wasn't too gimmicky, and that provided stability for wired and wireless connection. The RT-AX52 fits the bill perfectly. As a router there's enough options for configurability for all but the most technically minded of people/tinkerers. For the average user its a pretty accomplished device and it works very well as an access point. Note: I recommend downloading the ASUS Router phone app and configuring the router from there. There are quite a few YouTube videos out there to assist you if you need help.

Like many others, I bought this to replace the sky max hub which i found to be less than adequate to serve my 3 bed house. The RT-AX52 was one of the first routers that popped up when searching for a WiFi 6 router, and after a quick google session, found that it was compatible with the sky fibre. As others say, it was straight forward to set up by simply connecting the cable from the ONT to the WAN port, and switching the unit on. I then navigated to the routers web page where it asked me to set a login password, and then enabled me to set my SSID and password. The wifi signal throughout the house is now much improved, with the asus giving a 5Ghz connection at near enough full speed in areas where the sky hub had struggled to maintain a 2.4Ghz connection, even with a multitude of devices all connected and streaming at the same time. The router has many other useful functions which i am taking advantage of including a free DDNS hostname and VPN server, aswell as parental controls so i can restrict the kids from accessing things they shouldnt be accessing. The app comes in handy for seeing who's connected, and also enables me to block internet access to certain devices at the click of a button which helps keeps the kids in line. Also, if you need to reboot it for any reason, it is really quick and you dont have to wait 20 minutes for it come back on like you do with ISP routers! All in all I would recomend this router to anyone looking to improve their wifi coverage and speed, from beginners to experts. Really easy to set up and use - even for those with no experience, and has the advanced features available for those who need them. 10/10 and a bargain at this price - treat yourself.

Arrived exactly as expected despite ordering on Boxing Day. Really pleased with this little router. Was very easy to set up, I’m getting too old now to do anything other than plug and play but that literally was all that was needed. I bought this to replace the router which came with my full fibre broadband package but was slow and dropped out in certain parts of my 2bed cottage. I am going to be working from home so needed something reliable and this little router has surpassed expectations. The signal and speeds I am getting are exactly what I should be both download and upload. Absolutely worth what I paid for it and highly recommended. Great product, great service thank you.

My poor old Asus RT-AC3200 router has done sterling service over six years but it came to a point where it was beginning to overheat and slow down. The constant firmware upgrades from Asus persuaded me to go with another Asus router as they appear to support their products well after they’ve been taken off the market. After doing a fair bit of research, I selected the RT-AX82U. This model is the non-DSL variant so this is essentially a WiFi extender. In the box, you get the European and UK plug adapters, an ethernet cable, the power supply and the router itself. There are some leaflets and a quick start guide. The first thing I did was to see if I could move my settings from the old Asus router to the new one. There’s some useful video tutorials out there and I was able to transfer all my settings etc from a back-up configuration file and I didn’t have to reconnect anything. That saved me a lot of time and hassle. Well done Asus for sticking to the basics in making sure that general network settings can be transferred over even between devices that are years apart. If you’re starting from scratch, the Asus interface takes you through the set-up process so you’re not alone. As with a lot of Asus routers, the designs are original and the RT-AX82U beautifully exemplifies the design aesthetic. The main LED lighting grille is beautiful. In tandem with the app, you can generate some amazing colours although try to avoid static red as that is also used to indicate a problem. Even my wife who isn’t into technology loved the lightshow and insisted it pulsed a green colour as it is soothing. There are many other colour settings on the Asus app and it’s worth testing all of them. The AX82U is smaller than my old AC3200 but it more than compensates in all other areas. The networking and configuration capabilities of Asus routers has always been the best in class. My AC3200 I thought was comprehensive but the AX82U takes it to a whole new level. I’ve barely scratched the edge of the surface but believe me, this is one heck of a flexible router. You can connect it directly to Alexa to download updates, switch off the internet feed to the router. The traffic analyser, QOS, Firewall etc., the list goes on forever. Speed wise – you won’t be disappointed. It is fast. Coverage is brilliant covering the whole house without any issues even through thick walls – quite an achievement in itself. Those four antennas although small definitely provide ample coverage. The old Asus router barely registered through two walls – this one goes through four and provides a full signal as if the laptop was next to it. So, what’s my final thoughts on this router? The RT-AX82U does its job beautifully. Add in the numerous capabilities which you can use along with a beautiful design, this is the router that not only looks good but it is more than capable in matching its exterior features with its networking capabilities. And it comes with a three year warranty if you register the router with Asus. Highly recommended.
