Not only does the cap leak, the tip with the ball constantly spills water when tipped for the pup to drink. Not recommend at all.

The water bottle looks great. It keeps the water cool while we are out in the Louisiana hot weather. It does condensate some, however. We bring it with us when we go hiking or go to the dog park. It convenient for us to just be able to give our little dog some nice cool water when he needs it. It has a screw cap top where the dog can get his water from. It also has a second part that uncaps to allow you to fill it with water or ice very easily. The carabiner isn't the best quality, but that's not the point of buying this bottle. If you want a better carabiner, you can easily find an inexpensive one elswhere.

I love these bottles. I ordered this one as a backup. I suggest practicing having your dog drink from the mouth of a sports top bottled water first to make sure they'll get the idea of licking it, as some dogs don't really like drinking that way. But if that works, this is really useful. Every time we went out for a drive, we would waste water that my pup spilled or didn't finish, and it would often end up all over the car. We tried a dog crate water bottle for a bit, just flipping and holding it when needed, and that was better except for needing to worry about it tipping over in bags. Then we found this, and have stuck with it. The metal keeps water cold a good long while, even left in a hot car in the sun. It doesn't leak when closed. Also, my pup forgets to drink until she's absolutely parched, but, since she finds this more interesting than a bowl, she's willing to take a sip. Warnings: -YES, it DOES sprinkle some water when the dog is drinking. Less than what my own dog splashes around when drinking from a bowl... It's nowhere near as much water as we wasted using other things. I just either use it outside of the car, or don't worry about it on a hot day, since it's not so much that it won't evaporate. -NO, it does NOT provide the dog a ton of water in a few gulps. I personally like that about it. If we're in the car, or getting in, I don't want her chugging water & having to go to the bathroom every few minutes. Staggering the intake helps. I would, however, suggest that it might not be ideal for really, really big dogs. Mine is 25.8lbs, and it's great. Side note: I also found it extremely useful at the dog park at one point. After a kennel cough scare, the dogs weren't allowed to share water for 14 days. Pulling out a bowl is a quick way to get multiple snouts in your lap. This was much easier to keep control over. It's good to have something like this for such situations, even if we didn't give it frequent use otherwise.

Bought this as an alternative to the Gulpy since that may or may not be BPA free. Got it today and am so disappointed in the quality of the product as compared to the price. The stainless steel portion (part with the doggy print) is extremely thin and the top portion (black) is all plastic minus the metal ball. The top is really flimsy and is dollar store quality. I'm returning because it's not worth the money.

I've had this water bottle for several months now. In the beginning, I loved it! I still like it, but have had some issues crop up. I haven't experienced any leaking issues like other reviewers. My dogs love the roller ball and I love that I'm not pouring water everywhere! My issue is with the attaching lid/cover. The material keeping the top attached is not very secure. It broke off the 2nd time I used it and the caribeaner thing (I will admit that I have no idea how to spell that item) seemed very cheap. I can no longer just attach this water bottle to my hiking pack, which was one of the big selling points for me. I also dropped this water bottle several times and the bottom is no longer flat, thus I can't set the bottle down. That would be a user error, but in the end, the fault lies w/ the bottle b/c it dropped from my pack b/c the attaching material did not keep the bottle secured.

The item arrived on time. The bottle itself is made of stainless steel but the rest is made of cheap plastic. And the hook that holds the cap with the bottle broke the 2nd day I started to use it.

This pet water bottle is a great deal compared to similar items in stores. I saved about $10 based on the average prices I saw at local stores. It gets 5 stars for the price and for being cute! It does leak a little, but that's not really an issue for me since I only use it when my dogs are outside. It seems to be well constructed and my dogs like using it. I've had it for a month and there are no downsides so far.
