Sherlock Holmes: Jack the Ripper & West End Adventures

If you like games like Hunt a Killer or Escape Room, you'll love this game too. It's a fun, figure-out the crime game. You get to travel to 'locations' and figure out more clues, though not every location is relevant to your current case. You get to compare your findings and deductions to the actual answers and how fast Sherlock solved it as well. Even if you follow every single possible lead, the answer to the crime will not actually be spelled out for you. You have to put the clues together and make your own story for how the crime is solved. It's hard, but doable and it makes it all the more fun.

I played a free game of this that the makers gave away online during covid, and I loved it so I wanted more. This finally became available to ship to my country. I’m playing it solo (only English speaker here!) and really enjoying it - it’s a nice puzzle, not too easy.

My family and I started with the green box and have enjoyed getting up to case 9. We purchased this box and were immediately hit with the harder difficulty of following the clues for the first four Jack the Ripper cases. After looking at the solutions we still didn't feel like we would have naturally followed the leads in that way. I would definitely recommend starting with the green box over the red if you are a beginner. It feels more polished.

The game is interesting and you don't need a big crowd to play, basically you can play by yourself. It is a little hard though, I thought the clues would be more exact but this is the first time I played anything like that, maybe not a great one for beginners 😁. It would make a great gift though!

This is as other reviews have stated a high quality product. The writing is good and I personally validated every clue in the first case (or chapter 1 of the Ripper cases) to make sure one would/could logically find each one. Don't set your expectations too high as far as how well you will do as it's insanely difficult to wade through that much material and come to the correct conclusions -- at least for me. I actually cheated and read the questions at the back of the case first and still couldn't get it right. The material requires careful study and thought. It's almost work or like a school assignment. For this reason I will have to be in the right mood to proceed on to chapter 2 but I recommend this to anyone bored that has a lot of time to spare.

The game is afoot! This is such a clever game. You're given an introductory story and then set free to explore London. Any lead is up for grabs. Without giving anything away, we learned very quickly that gut-instinct is the quickest way to failure. Follow the clues and don't leave anything up to chance. Think like a detective, and you'll do well.

We just started one but my, oh my what a wonderful, scary, thought-provoking experience!!! Will write more as we progress.
